29 cycles TTC and losing hope

I'm looking for some reassurance to not give up. My husband and I have been trying now for two years to conceive our first child (29 cycles).

We conceived on cycle 16 but that was an early loss at 6+5. 13 cycles later and we are still trying and I feel like AF is coming.

I'm 9dpo and just got a stark white BFN. I got my BFP on 8dpo last time so I'm feeling disheartened.

I went to GP last January, so 18 months ago now. They did all initial tests for us both. Nothing wrong. Referred us to the fertility unit at our local NHS hospital. After 9 months, we got seen in Sept (incidentally, after my miscarriage in August). I had tests done again, including a hycosy. Nothing wrong. Husband's sperm is above average good. The consultant discharged us and told us to keep trying "relax, go on a holiday...". She said we aren't eligible for fertility assisted treatment until we'd been trying for a year. And the clock reset at the miscarriage, despite the fact it had taken us over a year to conceive in the first place.

Told nothing wrong and the only thing against me is my age. I'm 41 in August, husband is 40 in October.

I do all the OPKs and ovulate clearly every month. I track my BBT every day too. I monitor my CM. My chart for this cycle is attached (I don't properly log CM, i just personally check).

Does anyone have any success stories for conceiving naturally? We're not likely to receive treatment on the NHS until it's been a year again (August) and I'll be 41 by then, so I'll probably be too old.

I'm taking all manner of supplements (Coq10, vit D etc).

I don't believe in unexplained infertility. It's not a diagnosis, it's the lack of proper investigation.

Alas, I'm here, still TTC and looking for hope...

Hi OP. It's most likely just age. The quality of eggs goes down by 40 along with the amount left. That said, I was lucky enough to get pregnant at 41 and many people can conceive over 40. It's just less likely than if you were ten years younger. Still, all it takes is one good egg, so it's worth trying.

You have my sincere sympathies for the challenges you and your partner have been through.

Possibly a silly question, but given how time-sensitive the drive to conceive is, have you explored privately provided IVF? Success rate may be promising given you have both been advised your fertility stats look good.
