7dpo progesterone

Hey ladies.

I'm 7dpo and had my progesterone checked yesterday via blood to check for ovulation (I'm aware the "day 21" test is for ovulation confirmation).

I just got my results back. The level was 56nmol/L (17.60ng/mL) - this is the highest I've ever had it!! I've had 19, 34 and 24 nmol/L on previous tests in the past year (5.87, 10.69 and 7.54 Ng/mL).

Does anyone know what levels would/could be indicative of early pregnancy?

🙏🏼🌈
TTC for 29 cycles. Conceived after a year on cycle 16 (loss at 6+5), almost another year trying since.

My chart is attached. BBT dropped a bit today. Implantation?

I typically have short cycles (22-24 days) and I'm currently in the process of getting an appointment with GP/gynae to explore progesterone support.

What a coincidence! I had my progesterone tested on 7dpo (yesterday) because I wanted to see if it was low or not.
My progesterone level was 59.4 nmol/L (18.67 ng/ml).

I have found out that a pregnancy is viable if the progesterone level is above 20–25 ng/mL (63.6–79.5 nmol/L).
My BBT also dropped today (8 dpo). I am skeptical about implantation dip. Today I started to use apple watch to predict early pregnancy by using Resting Heart Rate. If RHR is higher, it is very likely to be caused by pregnancy.

I think your progesterone level is good. I plan to test my progesterone again at 10 dpo, just to see if it continues to increase. If it decreases, it means AF is very close.

Hi, may I ask how you get your progesterone levels checked? I am new to all this (3 months TCC)

aggiemay24 · 05/06/2024 22:37

Yes, what a coincidence, Lucy! I wish you all the best with yours too. Ok, so my progesterone is a good range. Keeping my heart and fingers crossed for a BFP! I'm going to test tomorrow 8dpo as I got my BFP 8Dpo last night (though sadly lost at 6+5).

It's not easy for me to retest progesterone. I am in the UK and we have to test it via the GP or a clinic. My GP won't test it again as I've just had a "normal" result.

How do you test yours?

Are you in the UK Rainey? Your GP will do your hormones if you ask them to do a fertility profile. You have two blood tests. One for LH, FSH and Oestradiol on day 2-5. And then on day 21 (this changes depending on your usual cycle length) to check progesterone to see if you ovulated.
Xx

I had a MC in March and a CP in May. I am also based on the UK.
So at the beginning of April, when my period came I went to a private clinic and did the female hormone level test on CD3 just to check my hormone levels were fine. They were fine apart from my progesterone which was a bit elevated.
My GP only let me do a standard blood test after a CP which happened last month and I am still waiting for the result. Everything is slow with NHS and I was worried about my progesterone level so I decided to go to the private clinic to do the test on 7dpo.
If I get a super faint line on 10 dpo (I got it for my two pregnancies on 10 dpo), I will want to check if the progesterone level is high enough to have a viable pregnancy.

This morning I got something on the hcg test strip. I don't know if it is an evaporation line or not.
However good luck to you today!

@RaineyNina If you're in the UK you can buy tests online to check your progesterone levels. You use a finger prick to take a blood sample and then post it back, results usually within a couple of days. I've done it a few times (including one today!) and it's pretty straightforward. I got mine from Medichecks but there are various services which offer them (Randox, Superdrug, One Day Tests) which I suspect are all much of a muchness.

Thank you! That is really helpful! I didn't know I could do that. : )

Hello Lucy! Did you get your BFP?! Or are you still 9DPO. I've had no lines yet on the cheapie pregnancy tests. I think i'm out for the this cycle. I got my BFP on 8dpo last time (loss at 6+5). I am starting to think/accept that it's just never going to happen for us. I'm 41 in August. Have been trying for 29 cycles now. I'm not sure I can take much more of the disappointment to be honest.

let me know how you get on. Good luck! x

Oh and I was meaning to ask. What is the 3rd line on your premom chart? I only have two lines. I have the LH level and then the BBT. What's the third line checking for?

If you follow the instructions you should be fine, make sure you're hydrated and that your hands are nice and warm. I'm a nightmare to get blood draws at the GP (deep veins) but haven't had any issues doing the finger pricks.

Today is 11 dpo and I still haven't got anything. My period is supposed to be here today. This cycle has been affected by a CP so I don't know what is happening. It is safer to say I am out as well just to save my sanity although my BBT is still high. I will be 35 this November and I cannot imagine how brutal it has been for you after trying for 29 cycles... I am truly sorry however I believe as long as you find out the reason, you get treatment and can still get pregnant. (maybe I am so naïve in this case, I've only started ttc seriously since this Jan)

One line is BBT (blue), one line is T/C ratio (orange), one line is LH level (purple)
