Hello everyone, I’m 4 days late on my period and so I took a test and got this strange result. I’m sort of freaking out because I don’t know if it’s a faint positive or evap line…. When I upload the picture on this thread looks like the quality is messed up but I clearly see half a blue line and the rest faint

OP at 4 days late and a faint line, my guess would be a chem.

I hope for you I am wrong but this would be typical.

A chemical pregnancy is when there is fertilisation but either implantation is not successful or very short lived. This happens very frequently (something like 1 in 4 pregnancies or something ridiculous) but previously women were oblivious as they just thought their period was late.

Early tests bring a lot of grief really, as we see positives and get hopeful when nature is just taking its course.
It does help to know for women who have repeated chemical pregnancies as they can then seek medical attention.

@Commonsense22 well this actually happened to my younger sister a year ago …. Is this something genetic?

Unfortunately just one of those things that happen sometimes. There's nothing saying it can/will happen to you, and for women who have had chemical pregnancies, they can usually go on to have very healthy pregnancies in future. Try not to worry about it, pregnancy can be stressful enough without worrying about 'what ifs' x

Are you able to test again tomorrow morning?
