Does the seed cycling really work?

I have read this on Proov website.
"During the follicular phase, estrogen is the star. For roughly days 1-14 of your cycle (for those new to cycle days, day one is the first day you have your period), eat 1-2 tablespoons each of fresh ground flax and raw pumpkin seeds per day. These seeds naturally support estrogen production (by containing lignans and zinc), but can also help in clearing excess estrogen, also known as estrogen dominance.

In the luteal phase, after ovulation occurs, progesterone takes over at center stage. After ovulation or roughly on day 15 of the cycle, switch from flax seeds and pumpkin seeds to 1-2 tablespoons each of raw sunflower and sesame seeds per day. Sesame seeds (high in zinc) and sunflower seeds (high in vitamin E) help with progesterone production during the luteal phase.

Continue eating sunflower and sesame seeds daily through day 28 of your cycle or the day before your period should come. You then switch back to flax and pumpkin seeds once you start your period again."

I suffered from a MC and a CP and my hormone levels are affected and I ovulated a week later than the normal date. For the ones who have tried the seed cycling, is it really helping you to balance the hormone levels?

Unlikely, but it also won't hurt your fertility. So if you wish to try it, go for it.

I'm trying it this month, I figure it can't do harm. I've read of people trying it and getting BFPs but could just be a coincidence.

Please keep me updated on how it goes!

Will do 😊

There is no evidence to suggest that seed cycling works.

Interesting...I'm not ttc but suffer from terrible hormonal migraines and someone suggested seed cycling to me! I tried it for a bit, can't say it made any difference but it's interesting to read this.

Good luck with ttc OP.

I tried for a bit to help with PMDD, but sadly didn't see much improvement.

But I have with starflower oil. Not sure if that's safe for TTC.

Worth a try with the seed cycling though and good luck!

I’m starting it this month. So far not so bad tbf. I just have them in yoghurt.

I think it does no harm. Taking more seeds can only be good for us.

im interested to see if it helps hormones when TTC.

so hoping for a BFP this month or seeing a big rise of bbt after ovulation.

jellyfish2 · 16/08/2024 09:15

@CSSL7 I got my bfp that month and I'm now 9 wks. Not sure if it was seed cycling or that and pressed as I tried that for the first time too or just complete coincidence. What I will say is I ovulated on day 31!! Normally it's day 20 so I'm not sure what caused that if the seeds can do that or not but that's never happened to me before.

Hey! I used phasebloom seed cycling kit and my hormone imbalances reduced drastically after about 2 months. Did you manage to try it?
