Hi everyone, new to posting here. I’ve been ttc my second for 18 months and was starting to think it was impossible. I’m 37, my son is 4 and I’m starting to panic about time. Anyway I was recently overjoyed to discover I was pregnant (5weeks) but lost it the following week.
My fear is that it took so long to actually fall pregnant again and that now I’m back to square one and it may take another year or so.
Does anyone have any similar experiences I could draw some positivity from?
Thanks in advance

I'm so sorry that you are going through this, it is such a rubbish journey to be on. I'm currently trying for my second baby, we concieved our son no issues at all (he'll be 4 soon) so this time has come as a shock. We are struggling with recurrent miscarriages, I've just had my 4th this year.
We spoke with our GP who has referred us on thr nhs to the recurrent miscarriage clinic but also decided to pay to go private for some tests. Nhs waiting lists are slow so maybe speak to your GP about some tests they can run and getting the ball rolling?
Hoping you get some good news soon

Can give you some hope. I had my first no problem and then recurrent miscarriages with second. Took about 2.5 years of TTC and treatment, but i did manage to hold to term. He is now 8 years!

Hi, it's so, so hard. I've been through something similar. Had my first child and then unfortunately had a coupon losses, I am now 14 weeks pregnant and on track for a nice healthy pregnancy 🤞🏻
I would recommend talking to the doctor sooner rather than later if you can, I had a referral for fertility issues and it took quite a while. I had blood tests and such but got pregnant before actually having my first gynecology appointment... The NHS waiting list is long. It has taken me years but I've managed to get here!

I really hope it all works out for you. I'm sure it will, try not to lose hope ❤️

Congratulations! So happy that it's happened for you!
Do you mind me asking I'd you had any help with this current pregnancy or did it just happen? I'm starting to think it'll never iuat happen for us :(

Hello, ask away, if I can help I will :) we didn't have any help, I used OPKs to track ovulation but that's it. My other half had a sperm test (apologies, I don't know the official test name) so we knew the ingredients were okay so to speak 🫣
I was pretty much at the point of giving up to be honest, it did take us a while but the gap between each pregnancy was different so it may not take you long at all to conceive again. It's really hard but try not to give up hope.

We're just going through our 4th miscarriage of the year, hard at this point to think that it's going to happen. We have a 3 year old which happened no issue so it's all unknown

Having more tests this month and seeing a specialist who I hope will shed some light/ prescribe some stuff to help 🤞

Thanks everyone for sharing your stories. It’s tough isn’t it! I too fell pregnant straight away with my first and had a textbook pregnancy. I was undergoing fertility investigations for the next due to my age and the time it’s taken to conceive but now I’ve managed to fall pregnant I guess it may be a different path to investigate. The time pressure to fall again and now the added worry of another loss is massive but it does help to share and hear that others understand. I wish all you ladies the best of luck on this tricky path xx

It may be different for everyone but my issue was something quite unique - first born male child produced an unfavourable uterine environment. I had to go through a lot of treatment as i would fall pregnant easily but then miscarry. I'm so glad i found the doctors i did who helped me carry my second child to term.

Do you mind sharing anymore information? What did they test/ treat?
I've read about recurrent miscarriage being more common if your first born was a boy- which mine was- but didn't find anything else
I am in the boat of getting pregnant really easily (4 times out of 5 times trying) but miscarry really early each time ( always less than 5+5 weeks) we fell on so easy with my son the first time with such a straight forward pregnancy this is all so unknown

user34254356 · 05/06/2024 19:26

Yes i can, i didn't get any diagnosis via the NHS route so I went private. Ended up having steroids with a frozen embryo transfer. Reason to have FET was because i needed steroids before conception to improve the uterine environment as my miscarriages were very early on. Happy to share more details of clinics and doctors if you PM me.
