So I had a fresh 5 day blastocyst transfer a while back and it resulted in an ectopic pregnancy. No reasons were given why it happened, could be just IVF increases the risks overall where they place the embryo in the womb. I also had a small submucosal fibroid in the cavity (now removed) so small chance could be that. I went on to have a chemical with a frozen transfer.
The literature says fresh and frozen there's no real difference with ectopic pregnancies or successful pregnancies. Some places say fresh worst as the stimulation drugs causes more liquid in the womb to cause ectopic but some places say fresh can be more successful other places say frozen is.
I'm about to do ivf again and not sure which to do. All I want is a safe pregnancy not ectopic. 70% of me says do fresh I got the highest hcg 7900 plus not freezing sounds good but 30% says do frozen as the womb is meant to be a less bard environment.
I will talk to a consultant soon, but I never find them forthcoming.
