High FSH Levels - to be concerned?

Hi everyone - really looking for a bit of reassurance here or someone with a success story to give me some hope before I lose the will! I have an FSH level of 15.9 and a short luteal phase (10-11 days). I’m 31 and partner is 39. All i’ve read online is that I will struggle to conceive with a high FSH level and it’s making me so disheartened. This is our 13th month of trying 😥

FSH does fluctuate a bit, but a high level can indicate you have low egg reserve.
Have you had any further investigations? If you can, I would find a fertility clinic and ask for some basic tests for you and your partner and talk through your options with a consultant.
Also speak to your GP as you’re entitled to NHS support after 13 months of trying. Just note that it may take a few months on the NHS to actually speak to a specialist.

I have high FSH and have managed to get pregnant so it’s definitely possible, just might take longer and may need a little help.

Hi my fsh was 14 ages 35 and I conceived first try. I got this result at gp and that's what made me not wait any longer before trying because like you I had googled high fsh even though the GP told me it was fine.

Thanks for both those messages! We have been referred to our local fertility clinic, just waiting on an appointment to come through. Funds unfortunately stop us going private/through any sort of fertility clinic unfortunately.

It’s a scary thing to google when those are your numbers to reassuring to hear that not all hope is lost! 😊
