TTC: what to avoid on TWW!

Hi all! I’m going away on holiday and just wondering about what to avoid during the TWW. I know when pregnant you’re meant to avoid certain foods, obviously alcohol, and also things like hot tubs - but is this also the case for the waiting period before finding out if period? It’s not a big deal for me to actively avoid these things, but as I’m going with family I will have to come up with an excuse as to why I’m avoiding alcohol and the hot tubs in the pool (they will most likely ask!). Also things like soft cheese too? So just checking to see what others would do/have done/general advice ☺️

Personally I would carry on as normal until you get a positive pregnancy test.
It took me years ttc and I spent ages avoiding certain foods / activities and still got negative tests. I carried on life as normal, had the occasional drink, went in the hot tub etc and then found out I was pregnant. My baby was healthy and j just stopped doing the things when I was around 6 weeks pregnant.

I’d say go and enjoy your holiday and hopefully you’ll get your bfp soon 🤞

Nothing transfers until weeks after implantation happens, so you're fine. My first BFP was a massive shock because it was just after Christmas and I'd had aaaalllll the alcohol and Brie over Christmas and New Year.

My friend is a midwife and when I lost that pregnancy I asked her if it would have contributed. She said absolutely none of those things would cause a miscarriage or damage so early on. Enjoy your holiday!

@Hiddenvoice @KittyFantastica thanks both! I knew I was probably over analysing it but it’s just all so scary sometimes! I did recently have a miscarriage, but this was due to it being ectopic rather than anything preventable. Even though it wasn’t preventable it’s just been on my mind a bit more for the “just in case” I think! Will carry on as normal until AF comes in a week or I test positive. Thank you
