Impryl - anyone tried it?

Hi.

We've been TTC for two years. 28 cycles to be exact. Conceived on cycle 16 but suffered a loss at 6+5. I am now 40 (starting trying age 38 after our wedding). My husband is a year younger.

GP referred us to Fertility clinic at hospital. Had tests and hycosy. All normal. I ovulate each month, cycles regular (if a little on the shorter side). Sperm tests perfect, too.

Consultant diagnosed us with Unexplained Infertility then discharged us, telling us to just keep trying. (She said "relax, go for a walk in the woods, decorate your house"🙄) I don't feel this is a diagnosis. It's a lack of proper investigation. I feel let down by the NHS.

The consultant did recommend taking two products: Impryl and Inofolic Alpha. But I have been hesitant to take Impryl as you cannot take Vitamin C and CoQ10 alongside it. I am reluctant to give these two up as they're advised as essential in the "It Starts with the Egg" book.

I'm currently taking per day:
COQ10 - 400mg
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) - 300mg
Vitamin D - 1000ui
MyoPlus containing 4000mg Myoinositol, 100ug Chromium, 200ug Folic Acid.
Folate - 400ug
Vitamin C - 1000mg
Vital DHA containing FISH OIL 1072mg, providing DHA 450mg and EPA 96mg, Zinc 3mg

So I'm just wondering if anyone has any review/experience of taking Impryl, and not taking COQ10.

(Inofolic Acid is the inositiol, so that would be a straight swap of my MyoPlus product).

I'd obviously still be able to take Vit D and the Omega 3 one (Vital DHA).

Thanks in advance.

Hey
Yes; we’ve both started taking it this month. We are TTC #2, fell pregnant first time with #1 and now on cycle#5 , I’m 36, husband 37. I did hertility test and husband home test and all seems ok.
Id seen Impryl mentioned on someone I follow on Instagram who had fertility struggles and their fertility clinic recommended it. So I did some more research and read good things - so ordered a few months worth and we are both taking it daily , with Vit D. Worth a shot I thought ! Unsure if it’s related but this month my LH surge was the highest it’s ever been - currently 5 DPO so waiting to see what happens ….

This is all so relatable! It’s incredibly unhelpful hearing things like ‘I wish I could prescribe you a holiday and a bottle of wine’ from doctors when struggling through fertility journeys. I consider ‘unexplained infertility’ to be lazy medicine.

We’re month 17 TTC and were also recommended Impryl by our fertility doctor.

I truly believe it worked for my DH as he went from 0% normal morphology to 5% (with 4% and above being considered healthy) in just 3-6 months alongside other lifestyle changes such as cutting out alcohol, caffeine and protein shakes.

I was so shocked at the speedy improvements that I’ve started taking it too. I have low AMH so hope it helps with my egg quality and number.

I’m also taking vitamin D from Wild Nutrition, and previously took their Fertility Support but have paused while I give Impryl a go. Interestingly, when I spoke to a fertility nutritionist about Impryl they were more in favour of Wild Nutrition due to the bio available ingredients and lack of bulking agents but I’ve been taking for almost a year now so trying something new.

My approach is to try things for 3-6 months, if it doesn’t work try the next thing. Also adding Maca to smoothies etc.

One silver lining to this ordeal is I’ve never been better nourished, and we were pretty healthy to start with.

Wishing you so much luck and no harm in giving it a go :)

We tried it for 2.5 years. Spent a small fortune on it as well as other supplements. Hasn't helped with us unfortunately. Even with 2 ivf rounds. I am 41 though so could well just be bad egg quality.

Possinass · 27/05/2024 11:24

Oh but one thing i would say, we stopped taking it about 6 months ago, and there's been a decline in my husband's sperm morphology since. So it maybe does do something. But it could also just be a coincidence.

How come you can't take Impryl with CoQ10?

I'm struggling to understand what Impryl offers over methylated conception vitamins from Vitl or Wild Nutrition? They have more in and for a lower price.

(I've been researching vitamins recently!)

I don’t understand the deal with impryl either? It’s insanely expensive (£50 for a mere 30 tablets!!!) and seems to contain standard supplements available elsewhere for less.

What‘s the deal?!

(Already take methylfolate and B vitamins, NAC, etc.)

I forgot to update on this thread; but following my post in May, and being 5 DPO, I’m now 27 weeks pregnant:) so whether it’s fluke or not; first month we took the tablets we conceived and our baby is due early feb. x

I've been taking Impryl for two months now and I feel very irritable. My cycle was on day 23-24, but after taking one dose, my cycle moved to 28 days. Has anyone else had the same experience with mood?
