Faint line 10DPO on ClearBlue but other tests negative? False positive or too early?

Hi, I am really new to pregnancy test land - I am 27 Y/O, have been off the pill for approx. 6 weeks after being on it for 14 years. I have tracked my ovulation this cycle using the clearblue ov tests - we had unprotected sex on my fertile days.

10DPO I tested (yesterday) and got this v faint thin line on the ClearBlue early detection tests, however I've tried a cheaper £1 early response test todau and the regular Clearblue test, both which are a clear negative.

I've attached the "positive" result here. Other positives I've seen on here seem to have a thicker line but I know it can vary.

I have ordered more early detection tests which hopefully come tomorrow.

Am I likely pregnant and perhaps the hormone levels are so low that detecting it is too difficult or is this a case of false positive?

Sorry but I think it may be a false positive because of the wet under the cap, if you flood tests you can get a line. The line also isn’t consistently coloured all the way along, it’s paler/broken towards the bottom.

Ah, I didn't even know flooding tests was a thing that affected the result... okay. Thank you for your input!

You can’t really flood these tests as they’re inside the plastic case. It looks to be an evap which is very common for clearblue. For a positive the line has to be as thick as the one on the right side.

Try a pink dye early test like frer or boots own early

This looks like my positive test I had , I tested again the following day and it was much clearer! Test again in the morning or Wednesday morning .

@Georgus yeah they are less likely to get evaps which clear blue are notorious for. Fingers crossed for you🤞

My partner got me one of the cheaper pink dye ones and more confused than ever now. It’s dark so I couldn’t see anything and then when I held it to the light I could see the faintest of lines to ever exist. The type of faint where it won’t pick up on camera…or I gaslit myself and it’s not there/just an evap line as I waited half an hour before looking in the light.

I guess I should wait a few days and try again as this is all too confusing! And in day time too..

@Georgus oh really! Sorry that must be confusing for you. 10dpo is still early though so as you say hopefully tomorrow or the day after you will have your clear positive

what are todays like?
try a pink dye with both first and second morning pee- easy @ home are seeming to be the most reliable that I’m seeing on here. Available on Amazon for under £10

Right. I did a first response today and I now have the faintest of lines again but it’s so far away from where it’s meant to be according to the diagram. Is this also just an evap line as well? The line appeared straight after I peed on it…

am I just not made for doing pregnancy tests?!

It looks like an evaporation line to me - the dark skinny lines are usually evap. Clear blue are notorious for these!! Try getting a first response pink dye test and try with first wee of the day x
