Hi wanted to ask what and how exactly do you do, get a 5-10ml syringe draw the sperm up in the syringe and insert it? Then lie down for half an hour with your legs up in the air or..?

What syringes do I buy?

Pretty much as you describe. Get the sperm into a small cup, use a syringe to slowly draw it out and then once it's inside slowly depress the syringe. Slow is the key so as not to damage it.

You also want to let the sperm to sit in the cup for 5 mins or so as it will liquify and be easier to use.

We used a "lube launcher" from Amazon instead of a syringe, I found this easier as it was longer and wider and had a rounded top so was a lot more comfortable to insert. I believe the length is good as it gets it as close to the cervix as possible. We did try a small thin pointy syringe and it was quite uncomfortable. I also lie on my back with a pillow under my bum for at least 15 mins although there is mixed reviews online about whether this helps or not.

You can get self insemination kits on Amazon. Can I ask if you’re using a donor?

KG2022 · 05/05/2024 20:50

Thank you @Peachoolongtea I will
look into it. Any specific kits you recommend? Have you tried it?
No not using a donor.

@KG2022 i just searched on Amazon and there were a lot - I think the kit had syringes and sample cups. I used a donor which is why I asked :)
