Hi. I'm just posting this out of pure frustration and sadness really.... We have been trying for a baby for 15months now. Really quite deflated! Just got a negative on clearblue digital. I thought this might have been THE month, as I'm 2 days late. Still having cramps, but been having cramps for 2 weeks and nowhere near as strong as AF cramps. I've been feeling nauseas, tired, slight stabbing pains but not painful, and I'm not on my af still.

Could a clearblue digital still be negative if I am 2 days late. I'm normally fairly regular, 26-29 day cycle but I'm now on CD 31 and just so lost.

I think our next step os to get tested, however, my next question is will the doctors still give me tests if I have 2 children already, partner doesn't have any so I'm assuming he can get tested no problem. Are there any reliable ones we could do at home before we get an appointment?

Is there anything that could help push us along? I'm 33 and partner is 38 so do feel time is running out now. Sorry for the rant, but I'm panicking a bit and feeling low now.

Sorry you’re feeling down x
I’d imagine a clear blue would be positive by now but they do need higher levels of hcg - if implantation happened later it may not show yet. Could you try an early response pink dye test today/first thing tomorrow? 🤞

Hi OP, sorry you’re going through this.

A Clearblue digital would be positive by now if you are 2 days late for your period & are pregnant. Unless you ovulated late, do you track ovulation?

With regards to testing, you can have the tests done on the NHS but with already having children wouldn’t be entitled to help conceiving such as IVF x

Thank you! I thought as much. Just a waiting game I suppose then. Not sure we will bother with tests if we won't get any help anyway. Thank you for your response

I will do another test tomorrow, but as you say, I would assume the test would have been positive by now. Thank you for your response

I'm not tracking using the tests as I feel I know roughly when I ovulate and we dtd quite often anyway. However, I think i will start with the ovulation tests after this months AF and hopefully get a better idea. This is such a stressful time anyway, I didn't want to make it more of a task, but i guess if it helps us then can only be a positive thing 🤞🏻

It may still be worth doing the tests as there may be things that can be done at home to improve chances if you know the issue (if there is one), and you may be eligible for some help on the NHS just not IVF.

The criteria for NHS is quite unfair really I feel, I have 2 female friends both struggling to conceive at the moment and neither have any children of their own however because both of their husband’s already have children to previous partners they are not eligible for NHS assistance, despite the fact that in both cases it is the woman who has the fertility issues. I believe they can do the initial tests though and if say ovulation was the issue then I think they will allow you to try medication e.g. Clomid on NHS so it may still be worth a try x
