Hi
I was wondering if I needed to see my gp if ttc or if there are any tests I can do to check everything is OK. I'm still quite early on in my journey (4 months ttc.) Only wondering as I have been slightly difficient in iron and vitamin D in the past and all my supplements says to consult gp if ttc. Would also like to know that everything is OK.
X

They won’t see you until it’s been 1 year. Why not take pregnacare as designed for TTC.

GPS won't do anything until you've been TTC for a year.

Only if you have an underlying medical condition that is relevant, for instance if you're epileptic, and on medication that should be avoided in pregnancy, or if you're hypothyroid on thyroxine, so need bloods more often, that sort of thing.

Depends on area and age and medical history

Choc29 · 01/04/2024 21:12

Hi. Thanks for your replies. I'm 30. I don't have any medical conditions apart from migraines that I take amitriptyline for daily. I'm guessing the gp won't do anything for me. X

I called up my gp and asked for day 21 bloods and no one questioned how long I’d been ttc
it’s to check you are ovulating. Might be worth a try? I don’t know how your practice works but I spoke to the nurse and asked for them

Uncooperativefingers · 01/04/2024 22:15

My GP didn't even want to know I was pregnant.

Despite following the advice on the NHS website to call and let them know, I just got a snotty receptionist response "why are you telling us?" So, no, I doubt your GP would be interested I'm afraid OP

I went to my GP to ask questions about TTC and different supplements to take. I have PCOS and they advised I can return in 6 months if I'm not pregnant by then! You don't need to tell them you're TTC, but if you have questions to ask, it's a good idea.
