Not me - but a good friend of mine conceived on the 3rd cycle with PCOS. Another friend who had delayed ovulation and long cycles conceived on the first try - she was tracking ovulation though and timed it well.

PCOS can be a mixed bag - I have polycystic ovaries but my cycle is very regular. I've also got friends who have it but their cycles are irregular. I just discussed with my GP last week and she said the degree of polycystic ovaries doesn't necessarily always correlate with the symptoms...although regular cycles (and ovulation) increases the chances of conception.

Following since I want to know too...

I have PCOS and conceive fairly easily. Have two DC but also had three losses. Are your cycles regular? Getting you cycles fairly regular is half the battle. Mine are pretty stable if I go low carb and take myo-inositol. Also take a high dose vitamin D.

Diagnosed with pcos here - had very irregular cycles im talking lucky if I got 3/4 a year. I was on the pill for many many years before coming of so didn't realise how bad it was.

It did take me some time to conceive my first around 1 -1/2 years. I was put on metformin to try and regulate my cycle... however I found out I was pregnant very soon after so don't know if it was the metformin or just sheer coincidence.

Decided after giving birth I didn't want to go back on contraception and fell pregnant again when my little one was around 9-10months old.

I have PCOS. My cycles used to range from 30 days to 75 days so timing intercourse to conceive was very difficult. I tried ovulation sticks, bbt monitoring and tracking cycles. After a year I was referred to a gynaecologist. I tried Clomid, no response. I had follicle tracking, which showed my pcos was stopping me ovulating properly. In the end, I had a laparoscopy to drill my ovaries. This gave me my first proper ovulation, with ovulation pain, and I conceived!! He is now 17 doing his A levels. Conceiving number two was fraught with more issues. After 5 years of not even a sniff of pregnancy we did ivf. Success first time.

Now I'm heading into menopause my periods are cruelly as regular as clockwork. Typical.

Best of luck on your journey.

Have a read through some of the older threads on the conception board. There are lots of happy success stories on MN.

I was diagnosed 10yrs+ ago - was only having 2 or 3 periods a year.

DC1 - 2000mg of metformin daily for at least 6 months then 3 x cycles of letrozole.

DC2 - 2000mg of metformin daily for 9 months plus i did a very low carb / low cal diet (fast 800) to lose 10% of body weight. Natural conception whilst waiting for a new letrozole prescription.

Top tips would be to maintain a healthy weight, low carb / sugar diet to reduce inflammation, good vitamins, get to your GP early for referrals as fertility waiting lists can be long so the sooner you start that process the better. If you were diagnosed via endocrinology, make sure they know that you want to ttc in the future, as my consultant designed my treatment plan with that in mind.

Pcos diagnosed here at 14
Never had regular periods until last October and I'm 32 this year

I fell pregnant at 23, naturally, even though I wasn't trying (was immature and wreckless) I had been off the pill a year and had lost a lot of weight. I also hadn't had a period for over a year at this point, so had no idea I'd even ovulated

I've been on metformin for over a year now and had a natural period around April or may and thought I was due on again but due to irregular periods, kept thinking I was coming on and then realised I thought that for 7 weeks and I was actually 9 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately, I had to have a medical termination in September, at 15 weeks.

As above, I've since had regular periods and I firmly believe it's due to being on metformin.

Are you able to speak with your GP about starting metformin?

I was diagnosed at 20 with this and already had 2 children… later on had another 2 children without planning snd just happened. Now im tracking and on 10dpo (lh surge on 15th) but i bought the proov progesterone tests and had a negative result which indicates an unsuccessful ovulation this month. I dont think im going to track again as i find it stressful snd the weeks drag so il taking a step back and just seeing what happens. I sm older now though so another barrier i suppose. I know many people with pcos who had successful pregnancies etc, me being one and had 4 over 22 years. Dont lose hope snd keep trying xxx

Ive had some b12 issues in the past - thats one thing id have to discuss re metomorfin
As low b12 can be a side effect

My body doesnt absorb b12 tablets - it absorbs b12 from potato & eggs though.

Im not surprised re the pcos diagnosis.
It was quiried last summer.

We were super lucky last year
To concieve 2nd cycle trying
But had early miscarriage.

B4 we started trying - i corrected
Vit d , feretin and b12 deficient

I was in hospital this month 4 something else..
Have been through a lot lately.

Very excited and very ready 4 the hols..

If this cycle doesnt work - will try one of the meds they recommend for pcos etc

Should be seen by endocrinologist very soon too

And awaiting a letter or call from gynae

I was where you are now in 2016 on threads asking for positive stories after having my diagnosis.

Now I have 2 beautiful girls.

I fell pregnant with my first after about 16 months of unprotected sex, I say it like that because we weren't actively TTC but just didn't want to prevent it after my diagnosis. And then with my second I fell pregnant on the first month of TTC!

I have noticed since having my first my periods are now regular (never used to be), they are also less painful. I feel like having her reset my body!

Good luck!!

I have PCOS and it took around 8 months to get pregnant from the time I took my coil out. It took a few months for periods to come back properly, and I was eating healthily and low carb by the by to lose some weight which I think helped regulate my periods to every 5 weeks.

I was diagnosed with pcos around 13-14 years ago. My cycles are very irregular I think I had only had around 10-15 cycles in 7 years before finding out I had pcos.
Gyne were amazing and decided to put me on clomid to help ovulate straight away.
First cycle I conceived twins.
2nd pregnancy was conceived 2 and a half years later he was a surprise.
3rd pregnancy I conceived straight after stopping expressing and I didn't even have a period!!
Sending you lots of luck xxx

I have PCOS.

I went through endless fertility testing and was eventually told it was ivf or nothing - no point trying any of the other treatments first!!

I then had ds1 from my first live cycle - incredibly lucky!!

9 years later I then, completely out of the blue, conceived naturally and now have ds2 in the mix too!! No idea what happened that month (well, I know that bit Grin) but I'm beyond lucky to have my 2 boys.
