Hi Ladies,

New here! I'm 31, my husband and I have been TTC for 7 months now. Just for some background on our current status:

I have:

  • Ovulatory PCOS
  • Good hormonal blood-work
  • Good Cervical Mucus
  • Super high AMH

He has:

  • A very big amount of sperm
  • Problems with sperm hyper-viscosity
  • Sub-optimal forward motility

We have both been put on medicine / supplements to fix our issues and so far so good. Doctors didn't really seem to understand why we haven't been able to conceive yet, until they tried an HSG procedure 4 times and could not access my cervix. In their words: It's a tiny little pinhole, and nothing will go through it. They called this cervical stenosis. This obviously is a problem as it means IVF and IUI would also be impossible.

I've been given the option of doing a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy under general anaesthesia in order to check everything is OK (and most importantly) dilate my cervix.
Has any had success post dilation with getting pregnant?
Anyone else in my situation?

Thank you :)

Hey! I know this is an old thread - wondered how you’re getting on?

Im having a hysterocopy under general tomorrow after a failed one under local because my cervix was so scarred. He also said I have haemotometra (fluid in the uterus) which they think is part retained period each month due to cervical stenosis. But we want to try for a baby and I’ve no idea if that’s even possible at this point.

Thanks

Hey @BlueEyes90 !
Sorry to hear that :(

After trying another few times they scheduled my surgery but it took ages to get approved by the insurance. I am scheduled to have it done in September - and still haven't been able to get pregnant since.

In your case, if I am not mistaken, once they'll have dilated your cervix that fluid will drain and you won't retain the blood in your uterus anymore. I am rooting for you :) I hope it all goes smoothly and you're on a fast track to a baby post surgery.

Keep me posted!

Thanks for coming back to me @dxb000. So frustrating when you’re waiting on others & it’s out of your control. At least you have a date and fingers crossed things can get moving after that! I hope things all go well for you.

I’m hoping so, not sure how much is in there but all stems from a colposcopy a couple of years ago! Thank you! X
