Conception cup - it worked

I have just found out I am pregnant after a year of TTC. I am 38 and my partner is in his 40s. We always knew it would be hard to conceive but didn’t expect that it would take this long. Anyway, I read about conception cups on the internet and thought I’d get one (assuming it might help but might not) & it’s actually worked. I won’t write the brand in here because I don’t want people to think I’m advertising and get paid or a robot! Worth a try ladies. It could be coincidence of course, but thought I’d post in case it can help anyone else.

Be awesome to hear other people’s experience and if they’ve also had success using one!

Firstly huge congratulations!

I’ve been TTC for 10 months now and used this last month for the first time, not a success story but I did have an implantation bleed, or what I think was on 6dpo but obviously it wasn’t meant to be.

2nd month trying and hoping it’s helped this month!

Can I ask, did you use it everytime? Or did you use ovulation tests and only use once you were near or on your peak? Intrigued to see when people used to get a positive!

@CarolNewYear many congratulations🎉 definitely gives me hope being in my mid 30s and ttc.

Ive bought a cheaper version of fertilily on Ebay and have used it in 2 cycles, currently in luteal phase of my 2nd cycle really hoping for good news.

Can I ask, how long did you keep the cup inside, and was it difficult taking the cup back out? On two occasions the suction has been so strong and I've worried that I've pulled out any sperm that's made its way upto the cervix!

Worked for me first month I tried after about a year of nothing. I used the fertilily - pretty amazing!

I used it most times we had sex.
its tricky to get in so you might have to try a few times..also it’s messy!
kept it in for approx 45 mins and when you pull it out it’s inevitable lots of stuff comes out but that would effect it as the sperm coming out wouldn’t have made a difference to conception ie the cup has already done it’s job x

This is similar to me
i left in for no more than an hour as per the instructions provided - the instructions said all the good stuff would have made it inside cervix at that point. Seems DH swimmers just needed a bit of help getting to where they needed to go!
Congrats on pregnancy. X

Edited

I used it every time 3-4 days either side of predicted ovulation just in case the day I ovulated differed. My cycles can be a bit irregular and so I thought I’d use it as much as I could. I quickly got used to using it.
Really hope it works for you too.

Would a mooncup have the same effect, do you think?

I think so. Having used both they're really really similar if not the same thing!

Mooncups absolutely do not work.

They are designed to collect menses. They collect sperm and it pools in the bottom of the cup and goes off. The sperm can't swim out of a moon cup.

Don't waste your ovulation, trapping sperm in what amounts to a pit.

That sounds like better advice than mine.
The conception cup was only £30 so maybe work investigating in the right product.
