Is it worth talking to my GP?

DH and I started trying July 22 (off contaception, tracking from Jan 23). As things were taking a while and my cycles were irregular, I had a scan and blood tests which were both normal. I got a BFP in July 23.

Unfortunately, we lost baby boy at 23 weeks through a compassionate induction of labour after a fatal prenatal diagnosis.

This was in December and I've had two periods since. Started TTC again after my first period in Jan. I'm due AF tomorrow but have had negative tests so far.

Because it took a year to conceive the last pregnancy, would I be eligible for any fertility support from ny GP even if we haven't been trying for a year now (I'm under 35).

I don't want to waste an appointment to get nothing but pity but not sure if I would actually be eligible for anything.

Hi OP, first of all I’m so sorry you’ve been through such a tough time.

It may depend on your area, but I know in our area NHS take the view that a positive pregnancy test essentially “resets the clock” for help, so you’d have to be trying for another 12 months after that pregnancy. But may be worth checking your area as it may be different x

I'm so sorry for losing your little boy.

Check NICE guidelines but I believe you will need to be trying again for a year or have 3 "miscarriages" before you will get help/referral.

Sorry for your loss. My Gp told me they consider it a year from the loss, I had a MC last august and she said i should contact her in a year from then. But you could do an e-consult and see what they say? A pregnancy of any length can change your hormones and body, so I wouldn’t worry too much I unless you have having a change in your symptoms, irregular cycles etc
