Trying to conceive 3rd baby

I have 2 DCs (7 & 4). We have been trying for a 3rd for about 6 months and so far nothing has happened. I appreciate this isn’t necessarily a really long time, and it can take up to a year. However, i fell pregnant within the first two months with my previous pregnancies. I am wondering whether age could be a factor. I was 25 and 28 when we conceived our children. I am now 33.

We also didn’t track cycles/fertility. This is the first time i have tracked my ovulation on the ‘flo app’. I’m not sure whether the fertile window isn’t accurate, or whether it’s just not happening. It predicts my periods pretty accurately so i was hoping we were timing everything correctly.

We aren’t at the stage where we would go for tests. I’m not sure we ever would to be honest as we are so lucky to have two children already. I am just beginning to feel like we may have left it a little late. I’m not suggesting that 34 is by any means ‘old’ to have a baby, but everyone’s biological clock is different. I have just noticed a clear difference in the amount of time it’s taking this time.

If anyone can relate, or offer any advice, I’d love to hear from you :)

I don't trust those apps just based on your period dates alone, when I used Flo it was way out. When I used ovulation tests, I was ovulating at least 4 days later than Flo app told me, often more. I'd try ovulation tests, Premom ones are good and cheap, once you start to get a darker line, have sex regularly and keep going until the line goes faint again. Age could be a factor but lots of women, including me, only have their first in their 30s! Your hormones will have been affected by your other pregnancies to.

@Rosesanddaisies1 Yes it did cross my mind that it might have something to do with the ovulation dates being wrong. We still had sex quite regularly the week either side of the dates that Flo said i was ovulating though tbf.

I don’t know whether i am a bit less laid back about it this time which could also be having an effect. In the past we just stopped using contraception and let nature take its course. Even though i haven’t been checking the app religiously, i was definitely conscious of how many times we had done it during the supposed ‘fertile window’.

Thanks, I will definitely start with the ovulation tests for my next cycle. I was going to wait another couple of months, but i think i will feel stressed out if i do. How long did it take with the tests for you, if you don’t mind me asking?

We have always been quite happy to ‘wait and see what happens’ in the past, but for various reasons (mainly age gaps of DC, work & other commitments), we would prefer it to happen sooner rather than later if we are lucky enough to conceive again x
