Abnormal smear test and TTC?

I received my smear test results yesterday and I tested HPV positive and abnormal cells were found and I’ve been referred for a colcoscopay. We are currently trying for our 2nd baby (suffered a chemical this week) and really wanting to keep going but have no real idea as what to do? Whether we should delay or keep trying?
Does anyone have any advice or experience? Thank you

At your colposcopy they will check the cell changes, and potentially take a biopsy, which will confirm what kind of changes they are. Depending on this they may offer you treatment to get rid of the cells, or alternately advise 'watch and wait' with more regular smears/colposcopies. Personally I would hold off until after I knew the biopsy results and follow the advised approach based on that. If you go on to have lletz treatment then you have no PIV sex for 4-6 weeks after. Once you conceive, mention to midwife if you've had the treatment so they're aware. Shouldn't affect things though.

Thank you for all the info @thehonscupboard, that really helps. So a potential 4 month wait to try again. I’m now wondering if that could have been a reason for my early loss.

I had the same news in December @munrobaggerflora I had the intention of TTC no 1 in January but that was scuppered with the results.
I actually started a thread called "Colposcopy and TTC" if you want to do a search on it there was lots of lovely reassuring advice posted.
I went to my colposcopy appt first week in Jan and they were intially positive that it all looked great and said its likely cin 1 but they took a biopsy just incase and it came back graded as cin 3 so was booked it to have LLETZ 6 Weeks after.

Im just over 2 weeks post LLETZ and can't DTD for another 2 or 3 weeks but have been comforted by nurse and doctor that can TTC immediatly( I had read online you have to wait 6 months)

Overall I'm relieved to have it done, as it's given me peace of mind.
During my frantic googling phase I came across a thread asking similar to what you and I were asking regarding TTC and someone advised the poster to
"put your own oxygen mask on first " and that has stayed with me.

Hope it goes well 💐
