Should I buy it before I get a positive?

I have been trying to conceive baby number 3 for a while, unfortunately all negative tests so far... I will be taking another in a few days as my period is late this month.

I have fallen in love with a travel system and it is gorgeous!! only problem is there are only a handful left in stock where I'm buying from and I cant find anywhere else with the same design!

Would I be mad to buy the travel system before I get a positive test??

Yes, slightly mad unless you’re made of money and have tonnes of space for storage.

Rosesanddaisies1 · 04/03/2024 15:53

yes you would be. and surely you have everything from your other kids - have a bit of respect for the resources used to make all this stuff. Blows my mind anyone buys new.

Thank you for your answer, just to add my children are 8 and 10. I sold pretty much everything from when they were babies other than a few sentimental bits. I do buy a lot of second hand items but a car seat which is included in the travel system I believe should always be knew :)

Yes you would be barmy lol. Don't buy the travel system until you're pregnant.

Blanket12 · 04/03/2024 16:01

I agree it probably is a bit barmy haha! Its a great travel system for a great price and only a few left in stock

I like prams as much as the next person but surely you can source it from somewhere else or buy the pram and car seat separately when you're pregnant? It might take you a long time to get pregnant and I do think it would be a bit premature to spend a grand on a pram which you will then have to store and may never get to use (to be blunt).

I do really appreciate your comments, I think I agree with you all! Its definitely a battle between my head and my heart haha!

Yes bit crazy when it's possible you might not get pregnant. Hold off! :)

CurlyWurly1991 · 04/03/2024 17:10

OP I totally understand why you would want to snap up a good deal (I’m the same!) but thinking about storage etc, even if you had just conceived, it would still be early days. Perhaps put the money aside for now so you can gain some interest in the meantime?

WithACatLikeTread · 04/03/2024 17:32

I wouldn't. What if five years done the line you haven't conceived and need IVF?

WithACatLikeTread · 04/03/2024 17:33

I need a pic though of the pram to judge it and see if I like it.

SoyaMilkLatte · 04/03/2024 17:37

if you can afford it why not

emmatcc1 · 04/03/2024 17:48

I would buy it. You’re gonna need it at some point and it might not be available anymore when you get pregnant. If by some chance don’t get a 3rd baby you can still sell a brand new pram for a good price. If I were you I would get it but I’m fixed on a nuna demi grow and there’s plenty of them.

vincettenoir · 04/03/2024 18:59

For the reasons others have said I reckon it's better to wait even if you eventually have to pay more for a travel system.

As you say it's better to buy these new so you probably couldn't sell on for a good price if you didn't need it.

supercalafragilisticexpealidocious · 04/03/2024 19:10

There might be a newer version of the one you love in a years time when you have the baby too...so worth waiting for that reason I think.

Which pram is it?
