Hi I wonder if anyone can help…
i I was diagnosed with PCOS due to irregular periods back in Nov 2023
i have been taking 1000mg of Metformin since Dec and also using for about 3 weeks now Inofolic Alpha 2 sachets a day
in December I had a period which lasted 5 days

in January I started to take the clearblue advanced tests and had a high amount of days with high fertility (flashing smiley face) but no peak, i also had 1-2 days spotting but not really a period

now Feb I have been taking my body temp - again seem to be getting high fertility but no peak.
trying not to test early, had no temperature increase and no discharge.
is this normal with PCOS to have high fertility days but no peak?

is there anything anyone can recommend to help me ovulate / regulate periods
is it worth me speaking with docs to up my metformin dosage?
I’m currently cutting down all carbs and fatty sugars

sorry for the paragraph, I just want to be able to conceive :(

Hello! I also have PCOS. I take 2000mg a day of Metformin, so it might be worth asking your doctor if you can take a higher dose. I’ve been taking Metformin since being diagnosed in May last year, and been taking Myo Inositol since December. I am currently 7 weeks pregnant, so still early days. It took us 11 months to conceive.

Unfortunately, ovulation tests and PCOS don’t always mix. As you’ll know, ovulation tests measure how much LH is in your urine. For some women who have PCOS (including me) our LH levels are always high, so tests will show that we are always ovulating, or about to. It’s not easy. I haven’t even bothered with ovulation tests. We’ve just been trying to make sure we DTD around 3 - 4 times a week when we feel like it.

I know that’s not helpful on the ovulation test front, but hopefully you can get somewhere with upping your Metformin dose.

Also - I forgot to say this before - I switched to all brown carbs and I’ve lost nearly half a stone through diet and exercise. Luckily, I was already into weight training, but it was recommended to me when I was diagnosed, so that might help too!

Hi I've also got PCOS. I'm not on Metformin as have fairly regular, but long, cycles. But I do take inositol and have cut out sugar. I tried OPKs but also found my LH surge was high for weeks without peaking. I've heard BBT is better for PCOS.

There's a good podcast on Spotify called "don't tell me to relax" and the episode on PCOS was quite good. Also there's a book called "getting pregnant with PCOS" that I found really informative.

Good luck OP!
