Reduced cycle length at 35

I am 35 and married. No kids yet as we have been waiting to buy a house - we are hoping to get that sorted this year.

I have noticed that in the last few years my cycle length has gradually decreased from 27 days to 24 days. I have convinced myself this is because my fertility has declined and I will now never have children! Health anxiety and Dr Google have not helped the situation.

I’m just wondering if anyone else experienced anything similar in their 30s but has still since conceived?

AIBU to be worrying about this at 35? Ty!

Hi there, my cycles started to change at 35 and that scared me into trying straight away and I managed to conceive first month trying. I did go to the GP and they checked my hormones and that I was ovulating and they said all was fine. Although I asked them my fsh level at the time and it was 14 two months consecutively. dr google told me at the time that this was bad but I still conceived first time. Although now I am having trouble concieving a second but I am nearly 41. Maybe the GP would offer some reassurance?

@citysloth thank you, that is reassuring to hear and I think I will go to the GP and check! Best of luck with trying for your second, I have my fingers crossed for you.

Hi,
Not to scare you but my cycles shortening was an indication of being peri-menopausal for me. I now have 2 children but it wasn’t easy (IVF etc). I’d approach a private clinic for hormone testing just to be sure. Vitamin B also helped lengthen my cycles.
