Good books, inc the new Dr Larisa 'The Conception Plan'

Has anyone got any good books to recommend? We've been trying for a long time and also lost a baby to Edwards Syndrome so I'm keen to do everything I can to improve things.

I've heard a lot about 'It starts with the egg' but I know it talks about reducing plastic and toxins and I'm not sure how much more I can practically do.

Dr Larisa, as seen on This Morning, has just released 'The Conception Plan'. I heard her talking about it on a podcast but it sounded a bit 'woo' for me, a lot is based on 'healing from your past' and trauma and I'm not sure if I can do any of that!

I really think a lot of those books are designed to scaremonger. Think about this: how many women get pregnant in dire circumstances and the babies are fine.

I fully believe the right vitamins, less caffeine and dtd when tracking ovulation are key. Other than that its up to luck and your fertility that month. I've been pregnant 3 times , unfortunately losses. 2 early ones and my last one was at 29 weeks. I got pregnant naturally. You will too.

I've read It starts with the egg. Whilst yes, there's a chapter on reducing toxins I felt that that was quite geared towards US audiences, as there's a lot less regulations around those things over there.

It does also contain a lot of really useful and researched info on what supplements help (and also what doesn't help, ie. no studies backing certain popular supplements). A good fifth of the book is just a list of all the sources (scientific studies). It also includes plans depending on what to do in your particular circumstances (eg just struggling to conceive vs various miscarriages vs PCOS vs IVF etc). I've found it quite an eye opener really.
