Weight loss and TTC

I've decided to start trying to conceive this month. I have a child who is 5 and have had four miscarriages since and a neonatal loss - we took a break of a year after the last one but want to start trying again. Cause of early miscarriages and premature birth unknown. I'm nearly 38. I've been a little over weight generally (BMI 25-26.0) for years, however have comfort eaten and sat around the last year and put on around 5kg. I'm trying to lose some weight and move more as clearly this is not good for me, however wondered whether it is more sensible at this stage to take up some exercise and reduce portions, or to try to lose weight more quickly. Does anyone have any experience of something similar (sorry a rather personal question)? Thanks.

I lost a lot of weight not long before we conceived- so it doesn’t hurt- if anything helps.

i went gym through out first preg. Trying this one but symptoms hit harder

You can lose quite a bit of weight quickly if you combine healthy eating/smaller portions and exercise. Start off by doing 2 days of exercise a week (strength training, running, HIIT, Zumba, whatever you fancy!) and try and go on a walk every day.

Instead of focusing on lower calorie meals, try and look at higher protein meals which keep you fuller for longer. Aim for about 20-30g per meal.

Thanks for your replies, I feel motivated to try to lose weight - it's got to be good for me anyway!
