Hi all - first time posting but have been lurking for a while...

Am a bit worried, and was hoping somebody might be able to give me a bit of advice.

Have been off the pill since last November. First AF arrived at the end of December, and have been on a fairly regular 24 day cycle since then. AF is usually heavy-ish for 1-2 days and then very light for another couple of days, but have been having cramps, sore boobs, spots and all the rest of the typical symptoms! Last AF was 10 days ago, followed the normal patterns (although cramps seemed to be particularly bad this time).

So, on CD10, me and hubby did BD (am I getting all the abbreviations right?!). Morning after, when I went to the loo there was quite a lot of blood, and it was bright red, different to a normal period IYKWIM? This was yesterday, still happening today - but I have no pains/cramps or anything else. I bought a PG test on the way home from work yesterday and it was BFN. So, am quite freaked out by all the bleeding, and am not sure what is happening....

Any advice / comments welcomed...

it may be that your body is getting back to normal, how long have you been on the pill? however it sounds like you should go to the doctors and ask for some tests to rule out PCOS or endometrititis(sp) irregular bleeding should ALWAYS be checked out

I second that. Don't want to worry you, but bleeing between periods, particularly after sex, could also be due to a cervical problem - and should be checked out. It will probably be fine, but there is no point in wondering.

attilathemeercat is FAB at this type of stuff.

Any bleeding like this should be checked out by your GP to ascertain the underlying cause. As other posters have correctly surmised (and thank you for your kind comment Lissie) this may be due to something like a cervical erosion. Its often not serious but all the same I would stress you seek medical attention asap.

Thanks for your advise.

Is it possible that I could be pregnant, and the test just didn't pick it up? I have read that cervical erosion could happen during pregnancy....or am I just kidding myself?

its possible, but from the type of bleeding you are describing it sounds ulikely. your gp will be able to do a blood test anyway.

attila, no worries, its the truth!
