Surely I'm not pregnant after hubby's vasectomy!

So, never posted before, please bare with me!

Hubby had vasectomy about 8 years ago, ontop of that I had a procedure called novasure which gets rid of uterus lining via lasers, this was because of heavy periods I couldn't cope with anymore. (Side note it was the best thing I've ever done!). So I've had no periods since then about 6 years now and no cycle symptoms either. Was told lining will /can grow back. This procedure is only done for women who definitely don't want any/more children.

We have regular sex, and I've never worried about becoming pregnant since the above measures. However, the last 2 weeks my breasts are literally full, heavy and so bloody sore ALL THE TIME. Every morning I wake up and feel sick until I've had dry toast.

Now normally I don't eat breakfast, hate the thought of eating before 1pm (don't know why!).

I had a tiny pink spot when wiping a few weeks ago, but I just thought maybe lining had started to grow back, the beginning of the return of the dreaded flow.

We have 4 children but I never had morning sickness when pregnant. I'm also 41. I thought menopause, but sore breasts constantly aren't a symptom, neither is feeling sick. Also had blood tests on October 23 and all levels were normal.

I feel like a right div if I go get a test, because surely with all the above I can't be blooming pregnant?!

What do you all think? Am I being paranoid?

Chances are slim but not zero. I'd get a cheap test just to put my mind at rest and have a definite answer.

Sore breasts and feeling sick have been a symptom for me in perimenopause.

My dh had a vasectomy 10 years ago and when I reached perimenopause at about 40 I thought I was pregnant more than once due to the symptoms.

Ahh that makes me feel better ☺️. I'm really not in the baby market anymore!

Surely a cheap £1 test would provide greater clarity than asking strangers on the net.

But to reassure you, it sounds incredibly unlikely.

As a side note, your gynae should have been very clear with you that you can still get pregnant after an ablation, but you must not - because the endometrium can’t sustain a pregnancy properly. It doesn’t make you infertile. Mine was so clear that I still needed watertight contraception. But the vasectomy should have been that for you! Just do a test, so you can say you have when asked, and then investigate what else is causing you to feel this way.

Logically I know this. But people's own experiences can help. Like the one above about perimenopause. It's more likely that and doesn't cost me a penny! 🙂. Ive looked up menopause symptoms online and i didnt find any fitting but someone here has had those (plus I'm lazy and can't be bothered going out today 🤣 wonder if that's a symptom too!)

Life finds a way so they say!! For several years during my 40's I had pregnancy symptoms every month! Was glad to get to 52 unscathed so to speak!!

As someone having an horrific perimenopause, I’m thinking of starting a campaign for an ‘off’ switch once we no longer need it all!

Sounds like an awesome plan. Where do I sign, let's petition number 10 downing Street!
