2024 BFP - It's time?!

Hello all

Back on the conception boards after about a year off following two losses (one in 2022, one in January 2023)

My partner and I have decided to start trying again, and hope 2024 is the year we get our BFP and our baby

This will be my first baby, and I wanted somewhere to document testing and symptoms and hopes - please feel free to join me! 🩷

@nervousn3lly SME is the sperm meets egg method. Basically you DTD every other day from day 8 and test with an OPK from day 10. Once OPK is positive you DTD 3 times in a row, have a break of 1 day and then test 15 days after the positive OPK. It's designed to give you the maximum chance of getting pregnant and seems to have a good success rate. 😊

hi all - what ovulations tests do you recommend? if I haven't been lucky enough to conceive this month I'm thinking from February I'll try ovulation tests x

@ElleBelleLou aw sorry to hear that. How many DPO are you? I use Internet cheapies for a day or two, then when they start looking stronger I use clear blue ovulation predictor tests. I use the cheapies first to save a bit of money on using too many clear blues! But I've been tracking my ovulation on and off for years so I'm familiar with my ovulation pattern. I tend to get ewcm for 3-4 days in the run up too which is another sign for me.

@ElleBelleLou I also just use the cheap Boots strip OPKs which have always worked for me! I know there are lots of expensive brands out there like Clear Blue and digital ones with smiley faces but it really starts to add up quite quickly so I just stick to the cheap ones as they seem to do the job fine!

How is everyone getting on? I’m CD26, think period is due on Thursday or Friday (not 100% sure as I didn’t track ovulation this month) trying not to test as I can’t bear the thought of seeing another negative! I have absolutely zero symptoms though so assuming I am out again this month!

@Hopingrae I'm only 6DPO today so too early to know whether this month is the month or not but I'm thinking best plan is to not get my hopes up and plan for future months of TTC with ovulation tests etc - though there's still chance this month! I'll get myself on Amazon for some cheapies!

@hopingforapeainapod I was looking at the Boots ones just yesterday actually! Good to have a positive experience about them, I work right next to a Boots so very accessible! Ahhhh I hope this is the month for you - are you just going to test if you're late? x

Hi Ladies can I join. I'm 42. Have 2 children from previous relationship they 10 and 8. My partner and I have been ttc for 2 years now with one pregnacy in May 2023 but MC in July 2023. Using clearbue fertility monitor for ovulation. DTD almost daily. I'm currently 7dpo have got tender nipples and very hungry all time other than that no symptoms so could just be pms. Sorry to hear all the losses and wishing you all good luck for 2024.

@ElleBelleLou i used the cheap ones from cd10 and the used the clear blue nearer when i thought my OD would be.

I'm 5DPO but have actually never done a pregnancy test as I have quite a short luteral phase (about 12 days so hoping not too short!) so AF normally comes before I should test. Hoping i get to this cycle though!

@Racket81 welcome and sorry to hear about your losses. These sound really positive symptoms - did you have these with your previous DCs?

I am 10DPO today, in my previous pregnancies I had v v faint BFPs from 9DPO onwards, so part of me wants to test this evening (evening wees always gave darker lines for me for some reason) but another part of me doesn't think this is the month at all.

Hi ladies can I join. A bit about myself - I had a major heartbreak last November. I lost my identical twin sons at 29 weeks - 6 weeks before my planned section. My first little boy was stillborn and his twin brother died 4 days later, we had to take him off life support. It was acute TTTS a rare twin disorder that struck within 2 hours.

Basically I've been given the all clear to try again. I'm 33 and not wasting time. Got my first period last month and currently waiting for ovulation - hoping its a few days away as I had a tiny bit of ewcm today. Looking to be part of a nice thread.

I'm 33 too and started ttc in November 😊.

Thanks @Poppypear I started in August 2022, had 2 miscarriages before conceiving my late sons in April 23, so I've been relatively lucky getting pregnant but unlucky keeping them.

How are you getting on this month? I'm so anxious about my ovulation, I think my loss has clouded my judgement. Feel like ovulation will never come

I'm also dtd every other day this month

1DPO today! Hoping its a lucky month for us all! The worst is trying to keep busy and distracted until we find out!

@Ella31 I actually just did - BFN which I'm fairly sure means I'm out for this month as with my previous pregnancies I had BFPs on the same tests by now (10DPO)

I really don't think you are out until AF. I tested positive on different dpo's. I'm having a crisis moment here. No cervical mucus yet bar tiny glistening bits when I wipe and still waiting for ovulation to appear. I ovulated on the 26th December last so maybe I'm early.

Apparently my ovulation is 5 days away and this is my progression so far. It seems so light. I'm dtd every 2 days

@ElleBelleLou maybe something will change in next few days?! But sperm meets egg plan is a good shout if you start a new cycle, I did that for first MMC and DS and losely followed it last couple of times too!
