Advice on late ovulation!

Hi,

So, I always get my peak ovulation result at around CD15/16 of a 28 day cycle, meaning I probably actually ovulate around CD16/17 (if I’ve got that right!) I’ve been ttc for a little while and was just wondering whether this could have anything to do with why we haven’t been successful yet? I’ve read up on late ovulation, but from what I understand, I don’t quite fit in to that category as my luteal phase is still around 11/12 days, so I’m not sure if this is having an affect on my chances or not. Has anyone got their bfp with a similar situation?

Thanks :)

I ovulate on CD21/22 and I am currently pregnant. I’ve also conceived twice previously when ovulating late x

Thank you for replying! Do you also have a 28 day cycle? X

I ovulate on day 21 and have a 9 day luteal phase, fell pregnant twice within the first 2 months trying. X

I’ve heard that ovulating early is more of a problem than ovulating late (as maybe then the egg isn’t properly developed / matured in time?) and so as long as you have a normal luteal phase I don’t think it’s a problem!

I ovulated on cd64 and I’m pregnant, don’t think anything within a 35 day cycle is going to make much difference.

30/31 day cycle for me and I ovulate day 21 no idea why. Don't think it makes any difference

Ovulating on cd17 or 18 isn't really late, so you should be fine in that regard, as long as you are actually ovulating.

Ovulating early is more of an issue as the egg hasn't had enough time to mature. and then ovulating too late can be an issue as it means the uterine lining has had more time to thicken up and possibly become too thick for implantation.

Your luteal phase sounds fine as well. On paper, I'd say you're all good. But if you've been TTC for 12 months then it may be time to see a specialist and run some tests.

Just remember that even if you do everything perfectly and with nothing wrong, it can often take time to conceive as so much has to line up for it to happen.

Good luck.

@CRbear @Xoxogossipgirl1 @babasaclover @hopingforapeainapod @username121020 thank you all so much for your replies, you’ve put my mind a bit more at ease :) been ttc for around 7 months now and although I know that’s not too long in the grand scheme of things, I can’t help but feel like something is wrong! It’s good to know I’m not ovulating too late. Here’s hoping I get my positive soon 😊
