Is it ok to go on as normal (activities, alcohol, spa day) in the TWW?

We are several cycles in. We have a spa day booked but that will likely be 15/16dpo… and Christmas and new year, where I’m not sure whether to drink or not!! I’d really quite like to if I can but it’s in the TWW. What do you ladies do and should I just go on as normal given that if I am pregnant it will be too early to affect anything anyway?

The second of the quoted studies refers directly to alcohol passing through the placenta to the baby. The placenta is not fully formed until towards the end of the first trimester. There is no trace of it during the TWW.

The final study states that risk from drinking during first trimester is considerably lower than in other trimesters. This presumably confirms the above; the placenta is not present for most of the first trimester and so alcohol cannot reach the baby.

Cutting out alcohol in the TWW is not needed. If you want to, your choice, but stating it does great harm is incorrect and could scare many women who don’t find out they’re pregnant until later on.

Chances are if you drank it would be fine.

But there's always the chance you'd be in the minority of people who experience a form of damage to the fetal cells. We don't know why, but the number of children being diagnosed with certain issues has risen immensely.

It's good patenting to practice to put your desires second. I would suggest not drinking to maximise chances of conception and producing the best quality embryo.

Just because you don't like the truth doesn't make it nonsense.

It's not remotely the 'truth' to write drivel like this:

the minority of people who experience a form of damage to the fetal cells. We don't know why, but the number of children being diagnosed with certain issues has risen immensely.

What 'damage' to the foetal cells?
What 'certain issues' have 'risen immensely'?

I don't like people writing rubbish that might worry OP or others TTC
