Repeated chemical pregnancies

Hey, has anyone else been struggling with recurrent chemical pregnancies?
I seem to have one nearly every month in the past year. I lost my son last year at 24 weeks, we were trying for 5 years and conceived him on first clomid cycle. Then few chemicals, started clomid again and got pregnant on the 2nd cycle wich ended in miscarriage at 5+2, now looks like I’m again having a chemical pregnancy. 😫 I’m sick and tired of getting my hopes up. I was also using progesterone cream this cycle hoping it will make a difference. 😭

Hi op, I'm so sorry, you've absolutely been through it. I had a few chemicals. I had a baby ten years ago, then nothing but chemicals, then finally conceived again last year. In my case, I think it was lining issues. The reason I think that is that both times I conceived, I had a six week miscarriage the month before, so I think the lining was very fresh for the new pregnancy. I had to have surgery for adhesions after my first pregnancy. After my last miscarriage, the Dr told me I have adenomyosis. I'm just wondering if you've fully explored any possible issues with your womb lining. It might be an avenue to go down if you haven't explored it fully. I wish you the best of luck. I hope 24 is your year.

Hello

First, I'm so sorry. I've had three chemical pregnancies, it is heartbreaking.

My issues include low progesterone, have you had day 21 bloods? I'd also recommend booking a private scan to look at your uterus including the lining. I'm afraid a referral on the NHS may take a while so do what you can privately.

I had three miscarriages in total ranging from a chemical to about 10 weeks. I was a patient on the CERM medical trial run by Tommys and had a son successfully. The trial is studying endometrisis (not endometriosis!) it's chronic inflammation of the womb lining and the thought behind it is that the condition makes implantation difficult or fail.

I went to my GP and asked to be referred directly to Professor Quenby at Tommys Coventry which is where I took part in the trial.

And I'm really so sorry for your losses, it's the absolute pits, take care of yourself x

showmethegin · 15/12/2023 22:02

And sorry to add again but I don't believe the condition can be detected via a scan, it's womb biopsy only so it can be easily missed

AnnMii · 15/12/2023 22:06

@JuniperandI yes I had day 21 test and the gp said everything looks good. My gp referred me to private specialist and said I will get appointment in about 2 months. I’m in Ireland and HSE are joke to be honest.

can I ask how did you fix it all? Did you get pregnant ?

@showmethegin unfortunately I’m in Ireland and don’t think there’s anything like that available here.

@AnnMii we've had no pregnancies for a year and a half unfortunately.

I'm taking Letrozole and Gonasi as a trigger shot and post-peak and my hormone levels are better.

I'm so sorry to hear of your losses, CPs are truly horrendous to experience. Has your partner been tested for sperm quality (i.e. potential chromosome abnormalities)? Could this potentially be a route to go down? Sending lots of positivity 💖

Vic231 · 16/12/2023 09:27

Hi @AnnMii I couldn't read and run. My story is very similar to yours. We lost our daughter at 25 weeks last year and I've had two miscarriages since, (5w and 5+4). I don't have any other children. I've had full blood tests done and day 3 bloods done and all have come back normal. I'm waiting on RMC appointment in Jan. I just wanted you to know your not alone and actually just reading your post has made me feel less alone x

I'm so sorry, I've just had two chemical pregnancies in a row and feeling rather hopeless, hope you're okay. Here if you need to talk x

Pickles2023 · 16/12/2023 19:25

Yes i had 3, one succesful pregnancy, then 3 more, so far im 16 weeks, pregnant straight after a chemical. I had all the tests and they couldnt find any reason. Im praying this one works out and then im done..its too agonising as you spend your whole time waiting...i thought this one was another chemical as had all the usual signs, bfp, then clear blue weeks never moving up...but so far im praying..i had even ordered the pill to give up as the hope to despair was too much.

Fingers crossed for you..if they cant find any reason hopefully it will unfortunately just be waiting for the right egg x

showmethegin · 17/12/2023 00:52

I'm sorry to hear you don't have a unit there. The treatment if they find you have endometrisis is antibiotics for two weeks. Doxycycline. It worked for us and there is ways of getting that antibiotic. They use it currently in USA and Germany already
