How long did it take everyone to get pregnant & how often were you having sex? Everyone around me is either pregnant or got children already and I'm finding it difficult because it doesn't seem to be happening for us ☹️

About 5 months, got pregnant first month using ovulation tests - unfortunately had loss at 11 weeeks. Now midway through month 3 trying again

6 years for baby 1
2 years for baby 2
8 years for baby 3

Non of them were IVF, we just let nature decide and didn't make it a big thing. Counting days, tracking ovulation and endless pregnancy tests aren't going to get you pregnant - more likely it will just make you more stressed. I know it's not easy to be chilled about it but don't lose faith just yet.

Not a particular helpful thing to say. There’s an only a few days a month you can really get pregnant so ovulation tracking is sensible, particularly if you have irregular cycles. Not everyone has the luxury of waiting all those years given their age

I've been tracking my dates but haven't tried any ovulation tests so I'll try them next thanks all 🙂

they helped me as what the app said was about 5 days out from what the tests said

From many years ago, sex every few days. Pg 1 - 18 months, M/C. Pg 2 - 4 months (DC1), Pg 3 - M/C, Pg 4 - 1 month (DC2) Pg 5 - 2 months (DC3) Pg 6 - M/C.

Ellamaelucyolivia · 10/12/2023 17:46

Preg 1 at 33 - 2 cycles
Preg 2 at 41 - 5 years
Both natural

gotomomo · 10/12/2023 17:56

By accident, twice Blush

weegiemum · 10/12/2023 18:14

Dd1 - 1st month of trying
Then a mc that was 1 month of trying
Ds - 2nd month of trying
Dd2 - I had a mirena so wasn't trying at all, I wasn't even having periods so when I was asked my LMP at booking in with the midwife it was the one before ds was conceived!! (Had mirena put in at 6 week check).

Took us almost 18 years. Currently pregnant via Ivf

Roselilly36 · 10/12/2023 18:34

We were very fortunate, fell the first month of trying, with both of our DS’s.

tokesqueen · 10/12/2023 18:46

Three months at 30, one month at 33.

RedRobyn2021 · 10/12/2023 19:19

DD was our first cycle

Then I got pregnant on my first cycle for second but had an early miscarriage and since then my cycle has been messed up for months after. I have a good feeling now though, I think it will happen for us soon.

Changingplace · 10/12/2023 19:23

Never, 10 years and multiple unsuccessful ivf failures later I’m resigned that it won’t ever happen now.

riverlodge90 · 10/12/2023 19:33

I had an accidental pregnancy at 23, literally had sex once that month. Which by the scan dates turned out to be ovulation day. I ended the pregnancy.

Now 30 and have been trying for 8 months properly (ovulation sticks etc) but for 3 months prior to that casual sex without protection. Still not pregnant. Same partner and I think my lifestyle is probably better now than it was then. We are both just older.

To be honest I think it's all down to luck. I have noticed that women who conceive straight away mostly say it's down to something they did that made it happen quickly. 99% of the time this is absolute bollocks and it's just down to luck! As most people TTC know we've tried every trick in the book and still no luck.

Anyways hope we both get our BFP soon!

Lochness1975 · 10/12/2023 20:04

First- happy accident
Second- fell pregnant whilst on the mini pill and breastfeeding. Miscarried at 9 weeks
Third- the same week we decided to try and had my coil taken out

Cookie105 · 13/12/2023 21:36

Thanks for all your replies, hopefully it happens for off of you trying soon too ❤️

First child - 2nd cycle, had sex once every day from four days before positive ovulation tests and then for next three days.

second child - 2nd cycle, same amount of dtd!

third pregnancy (ended in miscarriage) - unplanned, had sex once five days before ovulation, and somehow managed to get pregnant!

I’m about about to start trying for number three!

brbttc · 14/12/2023 12:01

DC1- conceived cycle #1 at 28 years old
Current pregnancy- conceived cycle #1 at 30 years old.
We have been very lucky.

brbttc · 14/12/2023 12:07

Oh and for DC1- we only had sex one day that month, but it was OD luckily. For this pregnancy we had sex twice, once on CD12 and once on CD14. Not entirely sure which day I ovulated, but it was probably CD12 or CD13.

Pelham678 · 14/12/2023 12:12

18 months with the first and around a year with the second but then I was 36 when I started trying and had fibroids and benign ovarian cysts.

Kittylala · 14/12/2023 12:16

First go after deciding to try. Sex once or twice every 3mths (dh was working abroad and was home every 3 mths for 10 days - 2 years)
I had an app so I knew when my fertile days were. I'm 39.

Bex4567 · 14/12/2023 14:39

Your all very lucky if you caught first Try im on month 5 😢
