Sussex fertility NHS referral + Low Morphology

Morning all,

After paying for some private tests a few months ago, and learning my partner has low morphology (2%), we have been referred by our GP to the Uni Hospital Sussex.

I wondered if anyone else had experience of Sussex Hospital, and the waiting times they had.

Also - were any of those referrals for low morphology? I've been reading different things online, as to whether natural conception could happen with 2%.

Any stores, success or otherwise would be helpful, on another day when AF has arrived.

Thank you!

Following because I am concerned my DH may have fertility issues and we'd be referred to the Uni Hospital Sussex too.

ah hello - have you been for any testing yet?

Hello 😁

I've had many tests and I'm on some corrective meds etc.

Trying to get DH to do a sperm test, he's taking some convincing (nagging) though!

How are you getting on Juniper? Any updates?

Hi we conceived after 8 months with low morphology (but high numbers and motility)

We also took extra vitamins like vit c and cq10 and conceived after a hycosy so all is not lost!

Ohh thanks for the update and that’s good to know! And great news :)

On the hycosy, did your GP suggest that?

No I did it independently

I received an ultrasound and ovulation blood test, plus all the general blood tests for me but decided to pay for sperm test and hycosy just to check. I figured it was cheaper than IVF as I was worried I had an issue

No issues shown on the hycosy but common to fall pregnant up to 3 months after it and guess I was one of those people

I'm not based in Sussex but my partner also has 2% morphology. We did naturally fall pregnant ( first month after dye test) so it can definitely happen naturally. Even the consultant said its not impossible just the road would be longer.
In the end we persued ivf as I have pcos and ovulation problems.

monica3287 · 13/02/2024 07:38

Hey both, thanks for coming back and sharing.

I haven't had the dye test, so perhaps that is something for me to investigate!

I had a call last with Sussex uni hospital, and they said 44 weeks for initial appointment for IVF!

I’m in Sussex, just FYI they don’t actually do IVF treatment at the hospital, they outsource to the Agora clinic. Good luck!

Hello there, thanks for the message. Did you go through IVF at the clinic? We had our initial tests done there in November, and then GP referral to the hospital.
