Recently diagnosed with PCO (not pcos).

My last period (albeit very light) was 24th October - 28th October. I had a few very positive OPK on the 31st & 1st November which is very early on in a cycle.

Now (cycle day 22) I think I might be coming on my period again. It is extremely light at the moment but only been up a few hours.

I'm so new to this and never had issues with my cycles until recently. Is this normal with PCO sufferers?

I have been taking inositol supplements. Which is the only thing I have changed.

I have been pregnant 3 times so Ive never had issues with ovulating in the past.

Recently diagnosed with PCO, via ultrasound, all bloods were normal.

The GP and myself were in total shock as it's only being since an unfortunate abortion my periods went a bit haywire and other than that, I have never had any symptoms or issues.

Me and my partner are very ready to try for a baby. We're in a house now and want it more than anything.

I've got a beautiful 3 year old son, and had 2 pregnancies since, one ending in abortion (biggest regret, especially knowing what I know now😩)

My worry and fear is, the sudden trouble to conceive.
My periods are a little irregular, ranging from 25-38 day cycles.

I guess I'm asking for some reassurance, advice or success stories. Thank you xx

Hi @mummabearxoxx I have PCO, not PCOS, and was told it’s actually relatively common and should not impact periods / ovulation (I have regular cycles). However, if you are having irregular periods you should go back to your doctor as you may now qualify for PCOS. To have PCOS you need to have 2 out of 3 of the following: polycystic ovaries, high testosterone levels, irregular or absent periods. I think 25-38 day cycles would count as irregular (my doctor said if cycle lengths vary more then than 7 days they are irregular) and so you may now qualify for PCOS - I think best to speak to your doctor as there are other tests they can run to diagnose it!

Oh that's interesting!
It's very bizarre because I only found out in October due to a funny spell of periods following an abortion. I've only had the one 25 day cycle and the rest have been between 30-36 days but I'm yet to see a consistent pattern as it hasn't really been enough time to tell.

I think I will give the GP a call next week and ask for further tests and advice.

I'm my own worst nightmare with stress and worry which in turn, I know can make things worse!!

Thank you for this advice x

I should also add, before my abortion my periods were 28-30 day cycles. Every. Single. Month.

Thrown me and the doctor as honeslty had no clue! Didn't even cross my mind!
