Pregnant but negative test

I started my tttc journey last month. Had cramping which I think were implantation cramping. It felt like I had done an intense ab workout which is very different to my period cramps. Developed symptoms such as dry mouth, headache and tender breasts. Took an early pregnancy test saw 2 lines only when the test was developing both times on a FRER and then they would disappear. Got my period a couple days later. Was lighter than usual but still lasted 7 days. But the symptoms of having dry mouth, headache and tender breasts still remain. Its strange because if this was PMS it should be gone by now. Taken a couple pregnancy tests and they are negative. Could this have been a chemical pregnancy? If so are these symptoms supposed to keep lingering? I'm seeing a doctor in 2 days but thought there might be women with similar experiences

During our cycles we get high progesterone which cannot provoke a number of symptoms. These sensations can be confused for early pregnancy symptoms, where progesterone remains significantly elevated.

Possibly was a CP.

@Outliers That makes sense. My only concern is that now I've had my period and progesterone levels should have dropped and I should not be getting any of these symptoms

The human body is complex and doesn't operate in a way you'd expect a robot to. I mean even one person can experience abnormalities in their cycles, e.g. period coming later or earlier than usual.

Personally I would not be worried - it's not something you'd really be too concerned with outside the context of TTC.

The body can go a bit weird when ttc, usually due to increased stress and us paying more attention to our symptoms.

That said, something similar did happen to me. I had what would usually be pms symptoms during the follicular phase, during after my period. Most notably tender breasts and sore nipples, it was unprecedented for me.

I became convinced I was perimenopausal and all but reserved myself to the fact I likely wouldn't conceive. I conceived that cycle (had nothing prior). It was the 5th cycle trying. 16 weeks now.

No idea what happened or what caused it, if I wasn't actually fertile the previous months or what, but I've got my fingers crossed for this cycle for you!
