We have been ttc for nearly 4 years, we had 1 natural conception in that time but sadly miscarried.
we are waiting for our next fertility appointment where we will find out if we start letrozole or have to do IVF. They have found no reason other than PCOS as to why it isnn’t happening for us.
they told me to lose weight and get my BMI under 35 (I’m self funding through the NHS so the BMI guidelines are a bit higher I think)
my BMI started at 38.7 and it is now 33.6 and I’m still working on it.
There’s a part of me that is hoping the weight loss may be enough to help us conceive without the treatment. I’m just wondering if anyone has lost weight and fallen naturally after trying for a while?
TIA

Hi there. I also have pcos.
We had a dye test before starting clomid ( similar to letrozole) and fell pregnant the month after. Ended in chemical at 4 weeks. My bmi was 33.
I lost over 2 stone to qualify for ivf. During that time we did clomid but didn't help me get pregnant at all.
I'm now 5 weeks pregnant via out ivf cycle and my bmi is 29.
For me losing the weight didn't make a difference with regards to getting pregnant but I'm still glad I did it as I feel so much healther and losing the weight did regulate my periods and helped me to ovulate naturally

Yes, twice.

First time I lost around 4 stone and got pregnant (after 2.5 years trying) and second time lost 2 stone (2 of the previous 4 I'd already lost and put back on haha) and got pregnant after 6 months trying. Sadly both ended in missed miscarriage so it seems the weight loss didn't help my risks there!

Currently somewhere between my start weight and the middle of my biggest loss and trying again, now on cycle 4.

Yes, twice for me too! As soon as I hit the gym my fertility increases.
Fat (too much or a lack of) affects fat soluble hormones ... oestrogen is just that!
Good luck !
