BBT experts - first time ovufirst, weird temps and sensor position

Good morning ladies,

Sorry for the essay, but thought I'd give as much info as possible.

Trying for our 2nd child but first time tracking BBT. I have regular 28 day cycles and usually get a positive opk between day 14-16.
Only on cycle 2, last time I got pregnant on the first couple of cycles but wasn't tracking BBT.

So I thought I'd try the Ovufirst sensor to track my BBT to help understand what my body is doing, and also for piece of mind about ovulation. I sleep pretty well and I know worrying about taking my temp orally at the right time each morning would give me some anxiety and maybe break that sleep pattern. The wearable seemed like a good option.

The chart below looks a little crazy to me, but because of the way I'm wearing the sensor I wonder if that's the issue.

Because the Ovufirst band felt a little too tight I have been wearing it mid arm - just below elbow, but on on the inner side of my arm to try and ensure contact all night. It's not "tight tight" but also not loose enough for the monitor to move around.

The one temp on CD17 where I have listed a "Sleep Disturbance" was because I fell asleep without putting on my tracker and woke up at 3am panicked and put it on - then slept until 7/7:30 so felt like enough time for it to work, but noted on my chart just in case.

Also my temps generally seem super low.

I have a wristband from the company now, but it states not to change the position of the tracker mid cycle so I've carried on using the mid/forearm position.

Unfortunately being my first time tracking temps, I don't have anything to compare it to and have Googled every single phrase possible to try and understand if my temps are correct, or if the sensor position is the issue.

Appreciate you reading if you made it this far lol. It's just been stressing me for the last few days and I wondered if anyone had any advice or experience that was similar.

Thanks all, and wishing us all the very best on this crazy journey.

Cheeky lunchtime bump.

I know the best answer is probably to just start again on the next cycle with it in wrist position, but any "wasted" month of time/emotion/hope can be so disheartening.

If anyone has any thoughts on my chart in general, or opinion on whether I just switch to wrist position mid cycle (today is CD19) and see what happens, that would be appreciated too.

Hi, I’m not an expert by any means but I’ve been temping for the last 2 months & yours does seem low to what I have read about. After ovulation my temp spikes up until just before period & then drops again. I have a little thermometer by my bed & as soon as I wake up I stick it under my tongue. Very simple 🤷🏻‍♀️. Will attach a pic of my chart for last month so you can see what I mean about the temp spike x

@4LeafCloverBaby thank you, really appreciate your reply and sharing your chart :)

The big spike is what I thought I was looking for and a little concerned it hadn't happened. Of course after becoming so worried I reached out here, my temp went up dramatically today and it has provided confirmation. No confirmation yet on the Ovusense app, but I hear FF is the one to go by anyway so I'm not bothered.

I assume the red lines remain even if my temp goes down again below cover line, but I guess I'll find out!

I'm thinking I'll just get a BBT thermometer to double check oral vs wrist temps pattern on next cycle. Piece of mind on whether all appears ok or if I need to start thinking about talking to my GP would be helpful.

Attached my today chart here incase anyone is finding the same thing early on in temping.
Also, after a little more research on the sensor position, being further away from your body can mean the actual temperature reading will be lower. So using a normal BBT thermometer should also confirm/deny if BBT is actually low.
