Short cycle, late ovulation

Hi 👋
I'm wondering if anyone is in a similar situation and can offer any advice.

I have a daughter who will be 4 next week, had no issues conceiving with her.

Have been trying for baby number 2 for what feels like forever! I have been tracking my cycles and ovulation and have a regular 24/25 cycle and according to clear blue ovulation tests and ovulate around day 16/17. This seems quite late for such a short cycle.

I have been taking vitamin B6 and vitamin C as read that can help with a short luteal phase but its been 4 months and not noticed any difference.

We have been referred to fertility clinic but the wait is at least 3 months for initial consultation.

We would not be able to afford IVF but I am wondering if either a progesterone supplement (to extend luteal phase) or clomid to bring forward ovulation could be helpful?

Has anybody been in a similar position and had any success?
Thank you x

@WaitingForLittleSunflower hi just wondering if you found anything that helps ? I'm in similar position ovulating around day 21 but only a 28 day cycle.
Thanks

@NoisyBee I am in a similar situation too. I have polycystic ovaries and my cycles can be anywhere from 27 - 32 days, and I typically ovulate between days 16-22, so I have a short luteal phase. I was also having a lot of spotting before my period started, so my Dr prescribed me progesterone supplements and they worked to stop the spotting and lengthen my luteal phase. This cycle I have also started on Clomid to help bring my ovulation forward so I can track it better so praying the combination of the two works.

How long did you have to TTC before doctor prescribed you progesterone supplements ? I've convinced myself that is why I am struggling with my late ovulation and short luteal phase but only been trying 6 months so not sure if it's still too early for doctors to do anything ?

@NoisyBee So we have been trying for 9 months now. I did a test with Hertility back in December to check all my hormones & AMH which is when I found out I had polycystic ovaries. I was also getting a lot of spotting and I went to my GP multiple times and every time they said it was nothing to worry about. A friend recommended a private Dr so we did pay to see her and that's when she said my progesterone is dropping too quickly after I ovulate and also my luteal phase is too short, so gave me the progesterone supplements. She did a progesterone blood test which only cost £25. So we have ended up going private as I was just so relieved to have some answers and I wasn't really getting anywhere with my GP sadly. But I found since I've got information from both the Hertility test and my private Dr, when I now speak to my GP about things I have found out, they are more proactive as I already have the information and can tell them what issues I am having and they said they'd refer me to Gynaecology if I want to. Usually they do make you wait 1 year before doing anything. It's so stressful waiting so I feel your pain 😔
