Fertility treatment and losing weight

Hello everyone

I am taking low dose naltrexone, HCG injections and will start Letrozole this cycle too (I'm not ovulating and have rock bottom progesterone and estrogen)

My fertility doc wants me to continue to lose weight (I've lost almost 4 stone this year already) but my body seems to be bloated all the time, and holding on to water and fat.

Does anyone have any tips? Losing weight while going through these gruelling treatments is causing me a lot of stress.

Thanks.

4 stone is amazing well done!

Keto is an anti inflammatory diet and can (depending on the cause) help with some fertility issues. I mention it because it reduced bloating a lot for me, lost loads of water weight in the first couple of weeks and body noticeably thinner without that sitting on me, feel way better mentally and physically too.

Keto is recognised more and more as being beneficial for fertility it also gets rid of the water weight and once your in ketosis your body burns fat for energy. It's the only way I can get my body to lose weight. But I'd recommend clean keto . Worth looking into and doing some research for yourself

Thanks both.

I'm not sure I'm keen on putting my body through no carbs while I go through the massive changes that the fertility treatment is putting me through!

As an alternative point of view, I can't get on with keto at all! I do a lot of sport/activity and no carbs left me with zero energy which wasn't ideal. For me what worked was figuring out what calories I needed to be eating to be in a deficit, and then upping my general movement like going for lots of little walks to get my step count up. And increasing protein intake to help keep me feeling fuller for longer ☺️ my deficit was around 300 calories a day and I lost 2 stone in 4-5 months without feeling like I had really changed much or missed out on anything! I'll be doing this again soon as my BMI is hovering the wrong side of 30 (just!) and it needs to be under 30 for 6 months consistently to qualify for IVF where I am
