Pregnancy symptoms keep fading...

Hi everyone, first time posting on here.

I've never been pregnant and have been TTC for about 10 months now and wondered if anyone had been through the same thing...

In two of the past three months I've had lots of pregnancy symptoms but not tested positive and then ultimately got my period. One month I had severe bloating, cramping and lots of cm. My period came two days late and then I was in extreme pain to the point where I called a doctor for help. This month I had the same symptoms and also had sore breasts too but those symptoms faded over the weekend and I got my period on time today.

Has anyone else had experience like this? Am I failing to implant properly and is there anything I can do to support that? I recently started going for accupuncture which may help. I feel like I'm getting closer to pregnancy but not quite there yet so want to do it whatever I can to support my body next month. TIA xx

Hiya, I'm so sorry you're going through this, it really is so hard! I'm no doctor and can't say for sure but lots of these symptoms are also the same as pms symptoms. I would convince myself every month that my cramps, nausea, sore boobs etc were a sign I was pregnant but unfortunately I wasn't. I never used to notice any pms symptoms until I started trying to conceive!

The month I conceived my first I started taking conceive plus ovulation support supplements (I bought from amazon) and I swear that made all the difference so I am taking them again now ttc baby no2 (first cycle).

Weirdly, when I actually became pregnant I was surprised because I had no symptoms at all! It wasn't until 5 weeks pregnant that I started feeling nauseas and having mild cramps!

Best of luck for your BFP!

Sorry to hear you’re going through this, it really is such a difficult time.
It took us around 18 months to conceive DC1 and as with pp, the whole time we were trying, I’d convince myself I had pregnancy symptoms (didn’t help that my pms symptoms seemed to be different every month) during the TWW and then my period would arrive, then the month I actually fell pregnant I had no symptoms at all (apart from some cramps which I now know were implantation).
We started fertility tests but then conceived naturally anyway. No issues were found so I don’t know why it took a while. The most helpful thing for us in conceiving DC1 & 2 has been using ovulation tests to make sure we dtd at the right times.

I can second these. I got pregnant within 2 months of using these. Also using Vitex tablets too.

Were you on contraception before starting ttc? The symptoms of being pregnant are very similar to proper PMS symptoms that you would get if it was your natural cycle (eg not a withdrawal bleed in the pill), it’s the same hormone that causes PMS and supports early pregnancy. I always got sore boobs, bloating and spots before my period and felt the same before my bfp. Sorry it’s not more reassuring but what you are feeling is probably normal for PMS and not necessarily anything wrong!

Thanks everyone for your responses - you are all so nice. Yeah I'm starting to think it's PMS and that maybe i have a hormone imbalance I need to sort out. The amount of bloating was not normal. I have got tested before in the past after coming off the pill 2 years ago and had quite high estrogen levels - maybe that's to blame....

@pagey23 do you track your cycle to check when you’re ovulating? As CM increasing is usually associated with ovulation, and I always got super bloated around ovulation too.
