Sorry guys, I'm a bit obsessed. I know now is not the best time of day to do another test, but I've just done a Boots test strip, and a Clearblue.

The Clearblue didn't work / was negative? There's a horizontal line in the test window, but nothing in the control window. Is that a failed test, or a bfn? Anyone seen this before? What's going on there (I followed the instructions, tip turned pink, waited 3 minutes, etc.).

It's probably a less sensitive test. The line is clear on other one.

@MrBigsCat thanks. I've just taken the second text in the Clearblue box and followed the instructions even more closely, and that was faulty I guess too. No control line. Very annoying as they're expensive! My partner bought them, I hope he has the receipt!
As for the digital, yes I'll try.

Confusedddddddd · 19/04/2024 13:29

@CatCaretaker that progression is looking great. How long have you been trying?

The clear blue ones with the cross aren't meant to be very sensitive so I wouldn't worry about that test

@Confusedddddddd thanks! The Clearblue freaked me. Trying a bit over a year, which felt like forever. I have this crazy belief that the multiple Boots ones are false positives somehow (theyre in date, no reason they should be faulty). I just haven't left myself believe that it's real.

I was hoping the Clearblue would reassure me, and they did the opposite!

Confusedddddddd · 19/04/2024 21:08

@CatCaretaker you're still early for the clear blue one, and even for a digital for that matter. You'll only get positives on very sensitive tests.
I think with my DD I took a digital at 14dpo and it just came back with a question mark which really worried me, took another around 17/18 dpo and it said pregnant then.

CatCaretaker · 20/04/2024 07:24

Thanks so far everyone. I've just done another Boots strip test, and I think it's not looking good. Does that signal a chemical? 15dpo now.

I uploaded them to Premom as LH tests to get a score. Score's gone down this morning.

@wildhay and @MotherOfShihTzus how are your tests looking now?

curliegirlie · 20/04/2024 11:51

@CatCaretaker your most recent test line actually looks thicker than the previous one. The test also looks maybe not as dried out - so will look a bit fainter. That's good progression for One Steps which tend to progress more slowly than tests like FRERs anyway. I reckon you're doing ok. In the CP and early miscarriages I've had, they never got beyond squinters on test strips, so I think yours look very promising. Good luck, I know it's an anxious time.

CatCaretaker · 20/04/2024 13:09

@curliegirlie and everyone else who has replied to me. You've helped me so much, I really appreciate it.

MotherOfShihTzus · 20/04/2024 18:19

Hey @CatCaretaker - I think your tests look good - plenty of colour 👍 the cheapies never quite develop as other red dye tests do; plus so many factors like hydration etc impact results. If worried, could you get 2 blood tests, 2-3 days apart? To see if HCG is doubling?

Sadly my ivf emby ended in another chemical. Trying to focus getting as healthy as possible for the next transfer now x

Elisabeth3468 · 20/04/2024 19:29

Anyone experience nasty Evap lines on easy at home tests? So annoying!!!
Don't know what cheap tests to use any more because they all seem to be rubbish!

@MotherOfShihTzus oh I'm really sorry to hear that. Will you be doing your next transfer next cycle?

Yes, I have blood test booked for Monday, and will make a follow up appointment on the day. I'm just impatient!

Confusedddddddd · 09/05/2024 20:31

8dpo... fairly sure it's negative (I even poured myself a glass of wine) I think I see what looks like an indent. It definetly doesn't have colour, and I'm not the most trusting of easy@home.

As usual not sure why I'm posting this, fairly sure I have line eyes, and even when other do see something it always turns out to be nothing.

I don’t think I can see a line but it’s so hard!!

Firestarter9 · 09/05/2024 21:33

I’ve had a couple of today and yesterday (7/8DPO) that I’m sure I can see a VVVVVFL but then I’ve done a few other tests that are stark white. Time will tell!

MrBigsCat · 10/05/2024 07:57

@Confusedddddddd don't see anything yet-
line eye is the worst!!
@Firestarter9 i can see a shadow for sure there

OP posts:
Firestarter9 · 10/05/2024 08:19

I’ve had 3 days (7-9dpo) of a mix of shadows and nothing. It’s so demoralising! I’m not sure whether they’re just faulty tests, it’s a sign of very early pregnancy and just very low hcg, or it’s some kind of failed implantation? I used FMU today and see the faintest shadow but it’s lighter than the previous days. I’m not sure if they’re just trolling me at this point! I don’t think they’re Evap lines as they’re appearing within the 5 min window. I know the answer is it’s too early to be testing really but it’s so hard when you just want to know!

CatCaretaker · 10/05/2024 08:38

@Firestarter9 the wait is so hard. I had the faintest of lines at 12dpo, I really don't think anything would have come up earlier than that (though I didn't test till then). I do think you're just too early at this stage 😞

Confusedddddddd · 10/05/2024 16:50

@Firestarter9 I seem to get evaps every 3rd cycle. The weirdest thing is that I only have one good ovary and one tube on opposite sides, and accrlording to studies a tube will pick up from the other side approx 33% of the time, I swear the are some kind of d of failed implantation, I usually get a few evaps for 1 day or 2 in a row on those cycles. Some of the internet cheapies are very sensitive. So my theory is some issue with implantation. I've just done a blood test for progesterone to rule that out.

Yes I’m thinking it’s probably the same. I know my progesterone is low (just below 30 on the 2 mid luteal blood tests I’ve had) so it would make sense 😔

My first negatives of the month... Many many more to follow 🙄
Hope everyone is OK

@Firestarter9 I've just had my day21 progesterone results - 17. Going to write a separate post in a min but unsure what the next step is - sounds really difficult to get anything from GP.
