Going to GP

Hi I've posted on this forum a few times on this current ttc journey.

I just wondered when people went to the GP and how helpful they were?

Internet says 12 months but 6 months for over 35 year olds. I started trying when I was 34 but now I'm 35. It's been 9 months. DH thinks I am just being impatient!

It's for our second and I have a high BMI (which I'm trying to get lower) so I'm worried if I go now I will just get fobbed off. Periods are regular.

Would love to hear others experiences.

If you’re 35 years and 6 months I’d go.
I had trouble conceiving my 3rd and thought they wouldn’t be interested, as I already had 2, but they did bloods and found I had hypothyroidism.

Just go now! I'm in the process at the moment and the waiting times are long! I had to wait till 12 months (I'm 35 this month), have now been trying for 18 months and only just had a telephone consultation with fertility department this week.

I was under 35 but I went at six months and asked for advice. Doctor referred me for bloods as she said it was better to get me in the system. Of course, I got pregnant that very month. Good luck!!
