Ovulation cramps timing

Hi all

TTC CD 17 today... I'm a bit confused and need some help in understanding the timing of my ovulation please.
There's some tmi in here but I think it might help...

Previous cycle cd27
This month;

Cd 13 - excessive watery cm, ov cramps, - opk
Cd 14 - excessive watery cm, ov cramps, - opk
Cd 15 - egg white cm, no cramps, +opk 🙂 Did BD 🎉
CD 16 - very mild cramps but still +opk 🙂

So my question is... why do I have all my significant ovulation cramps 2 days prior to the clearblue LH tests showing positive?

Have I missed my ovulation this month? Or is the surge just showing up later 🤔 or do any other ladies feel ovulation cramps days before actual ovulation?
I feel if ovulation is later than I was thinking then I will have done the BD too early there and miss it, but it was the only chance we had.

Many thanks, I just feel confused as to how to narrow down the timing from this, everything I read online said it should be different to my experience there. TIA x

You can have ovulation cramps before, during or after ovulation. Mine are usually around the same time as my peak, but it's normal to have them a couple of days before.

The follicle grows as it matures, which can cause pain as it gets close to releasing the egg. Some women feel pain as the follicle matures, others as the egg releases and some feel it after the egg releases.

Unfortunately, ov pain isn't a reliable indicator of ovulation because of how varied the timings can be fir it happening.

You won't be ovulating before your peak as you can't ovulate without/before an lh surge.

Thank you. So looking at my list there would you think with the timing of opk and timing of BD that I might be in with a chance this month?

Most people ovulate the day after their peak. You should, ideally, do it on peak say, day after peak day and at least once a day or two before peak. So maybe doing it when you have the pains as well? Supposed to be aiming for having sperm waiting for the egg (and it takes minimum of 10-12 hours for sperm to be ready to fertilise after they're 'deposited')

That said, I only dtd once in my last fertile period. It was 12 hours after my peak and I'm 9 weeks pregnant now. So it really does only take one time 😅

also don’t forget the sperm can live up to 5 days so there is a chance
