Chemical pregnancies and faint lines

Hi all, I'm very new to the website and struggling with the acronyms a bit.
I see that there is a lot of topics about faint lines (the topic I'm also struggling with at the moment, TTC, being quite impatient and having had a chemical pregnancy before...) And I was wondering if you can share your experience with what came out of your faint lines in the past? How quickly do they get darker and on which DPO do you get a big, undisputable thick line?
Also, has it happened to you to have a dark line at some point in week 5 and then a period? (chemical pregnancy) Or do the lines always remain faint it's a chemical?

Below is my own faint line today, a day before my expected period (dpo 11).
I've had a similar one in the past on the day I was expecting my period. Did a HCG the day after the result was 35 (didn't have any more pee tests), two days later the result was 15 and in the evening my "period" came.

I've never experienced a cp but I have experienced a evap (which of course was looked at outside of the time frame). Your line doesn't look faint to me and I think it's a good line considering how early it is too. I can't even answer your questions about line progression ect. I just didn't want to read and not reply. I do know it can take two days for a good jump in hgc levels so I would leave tests a few days apart to see a good line progression. Congratulations 🎊 x

Oh, thank you @Jadeypie ! Hopefully it's a good one 🙏💖

Your line looks good for 11DPO - for me this was my line at 14DPO but it's still not as thick at that point as the control line. I'm currently 18w+4

Can anyway cells in what a chemical pregnancy bleed is like?
Think having my first one 2days before my period and it is darker brown and stringy. Day 3 of this brown spotting no normal period.

I jad implantation spotting with CM on 8DPO wnd a very faint light + 10-11DPO

11DPO evening spotting started I am now "14DPO" day of expected period and test is negative and still brown stringy spotting.

I use OPKs and got my surge in CD20. We also have not DTD since CD24.

Now that you say that, I had a period months ago that started very weirdly, brown stringy spotting.
Because I wasn't monitoring precise days at the time I thought it could be (very late?) implantation blood but then after a day turned to a normal-ish period so I didn't think about it more.
Now that you mention it, it could have been a very early CP...

Yours could be a CP as well, but for some reason not going into full on bleeding (does that happen when progesterone is still high?).
But then again, you don't really know until you get a proper period!

I always have chemical :(

I get a decent line on day period due, then throughout week 4 they get lighter. Till halfway through week 4-5 the bleeding starts...every.time.

On clear blue weeks never get passed 1-2.

Nina7 · 14/09/2023 17:55

@Hopinghonestly have you had many CP? It must feel awful to keep having them... Have you talked to a GP? I don't know but I think they give progesterone in some cases like that. There was another topic mentioning progesterone after a MC / CP but I can't remember which one it was.

When I had my CP I tested 6 days past the day I was due and only had a faint line. It was more faint the next day and within 48 hours it was gone.
Period (miscarriage) came 9 days past the date I was due on.

When I had my sticky bean (39 weeks now!), it was much darker from the start and got darker over a week.

I have put photos of CP and sticky bean.

@Nina7 ive had 7 :(, they said as they cant find the cause they just say bad luck...

They dont seem to want to help, they tried a referral but was declined as all the tests were ok.

I think I'm having my 6th now 😔 it's so crap. This time I started progesterone and aspirin from positive test and now dates wise I am 5+4 but I did a strip test this morning which is so faint it's basically negative so I think the progesterone is just delaying the inevitable bleeding. I have one daughter who was born prematurely and since then I can't make it to 6 weeks. Had all the tests done and all looks ok, all Dr has said between the lines is that I'm overweight. They often say chemicals can be a result of chromosomal abnormality but haven't even met my husband let alone testing his sperm! So for all I know it could be an issue his side.

Hi @Hopinghonestly so sorry to hear about your recurring CPs, just wanted to jump in as I had one last month which was very sad and shocking, and had a suspected one previously. I've done a fair bit of research (perhaps almost obsessively) and you might want to look into taking baby aspirin once a day as apparently CPs could be attributed to clotting issues which the aspirin helps with. Perhaps also ask your GP about progesterone if not done already? CPs are so sad and I hope you find answers as I feel GPs are so easy to brush off these things as bad luck rather than do proper investigations. I also ordered a fertility hormone testing kit from Hertility to do soon, as I personally didnt feel comfortable with the lack of advice or answers from healthcare professionals that I did speak to. Sending lots of positivity 💖

I would also recommend checking for a polyp... I had a private HyCoSy done (in Europe, where it was more affordable) and they found a polyp. Not very big, but the fertility doctor I saw later said it might affect successful implantation, and women with intrauterine polyps are more likely to have chemical pregnancies.
I was ready to remove it (again privately because the NHS list is very long I think) but it seems I'm pregnant now... 🤞 We'll see how this week goes.
