Im so sorry for your loss. No advice sorry but watching as been ttc 6 months and had 3 chemicals now at month 2, 4 and 6. Clear lines on different brands of tests. I never seem to get beyond a bit past 4 weeks and few days! Im 38 so puttin it down to age but its really takin its toll now. Tryin to be positive in that its my body doin its job and gettin rid of a bad egg but jeez yeh i think im cursed too!!!

AlexandraPaige · 02/09/2023 20:41

I'm sorry you're having a difficult time.

I've had 3 chemicals now, too. GP won't help though as I already have a child (she's 5).

My husband's sperm analysis showed low morphology but no real evidence to link this to miscarriages. Only thing that could cause them from the men's side would be sperm DNA fragmentation but you have to pay for that test so we aren't going down that road.

Have you had any investigations at GP?

Patchworksack · 02/09/2023 20:47

If you’ve had 3 miscarriages you should have been referred for NHS testing (GP can do the bloods to get the ball rolling) I’d highly recommend also going to see Prof Quenby at the implantation clinic in Coventry (self funded but non-profit private treatment) who was the person who actually found and treated my problem back in 2013.

AlexandraPaige · 02/09/2023 20:49

I've had blood tests but they won't do anything to help as I have a child already.

Recurrent miscarriage clinic just said to contact them if I get pregnant again.

How do you get an appointment?

Thanks

SoSad44 · 02/09/2023 20:52

@AlexandraPaige that’s not on. I had one child followed by 3 early mc and several chemicals. I got blood tests and got prescribed high dose vit d, high dose folic acid, aspirin, progesterone, and blood thinners. My rainbow baby is nearly 2 and beautiful 😍

SoSad44 · 02/09/2023 20:53

There is a lot of research (can be found on Tommy’s website) how progesterone can help with early MC. Your GP can prescribe it. I went to a private fertility consultant who prescribed it. I spent ££££ but all worth it (also on acupuncture/chinese herbal teas 😒🫣 etc)

AlexandraPaige · 02/09/2023 20:55

@SoSad44 my GP asked them to prescribe me progesterone but they said they will assess if that's appropriate when I get pregnant again. It has been 4 months and I haven't got pregnant again, though.

Really pleased you've got your lovely little one ❤️

Horriblewoman · 02/09/2023 21:00

Have you had blood tests through your GP or through a miscarriage unit or privately?

The basic Gp ones I’ve had showed nothing unusual but we made a decision to go private after our last (third consecutive) miscarriage to move things along. So we’ve had loads more tests and the next will be a womb scan. The consultant has told us not to try and conceive again until we have more answers.

AlexandraPaige · 02/09/2023 21:07

@Horriblewoman if you don't mind me asking, why have they told you to stop trying for now?

Sorry to hear that. Frankly I would push for it again. I took progesterone from
ovulation and was told to keep taking it until I got my period / or in case of pregnancy for another 3 months.

His guidance was that as I’ve never had a successful pregnancy and have taken months in between each loss to conceive let’s try and wait until we have all the facts so can make an informed decision and understand what additional support might be needed.

to be fair my husband is away for a month so it would be suspicious if I did become pregnant in that time 😁

AlexandraPaige · 02/09/2023 21:26

@SoSad44 the GP wrote back to them pushing the progesterone thing and they just said no basically. If I have another miscarriage, I'll just have to pay privately but I'm hoping that doesn't happen.

@Horriblewoman 🤣 yes, that would be suspicious.

Good luck with the results and ttc.

Hopinghonestly · 02/09/2023 22:02

They have done scan and bloods, no issues found so they wont intervene :( my GP tried to get authorisation to prescribe progesterone but they refused him. So upset x

Hello! Thought I’d join as I’ve just had my 3rd miscarriage in 4 months between 4-5 weeks. I lose them between 4-5 weeks every time.
I’m 29 and do have slightly below average AMH for my age.
I had a private remote appointment with a fertility consultant after the 2nd miscarriage who prescribed me progesterone (400mg twice a day) for 12 weeks.
I used the progesterone for this cycle from 3DPO and sadly it ended between 4-5 weeks as per my pregnancies before so seemed to make no difference.

Going to phone the GP in the morning to see if I can be referred for testing.

The fertility consultant I spoke to said I could have ‘super fertility’ where your lining doesn’t know the difference between a good or bad embryo so implants them all. Has anyone else ever been told this?

Gosh thats awfully simular to me, i get pregnant straight away some times and exactly the same 4-5 weeks! I will look into super fertility..sounds like hope to me! One of my buggers has to be a good egg...if thats the case for me.

@Hopinghonestly Honestly I do think this is the issue! And can be 50% our eggs or the sperm so I am changing my supplement protocol this month based on the re-current miscarriage section of the book 'It Starts with the Egg'.

For anyone interested this is what we will try this month:

My protocol:
1 x multi-vit- pregnacare preconception tabs
1 x 1000mcg folate
3 x 600mg of Co-enzyme Q10 in the form of ubiquinol spread throughout the day
1 x 200mg R-alpha lipoic acid
1 x 600mg N Acetyl Cysteine (NAC)
2000mg of mayo & d chiro inositol
1 x B Complex
1 x 500mg sustained release vitamin C
28mg iron bisglycinate
1 x 4000IU vitamin D
1 x Omega 3 with 400mg DHA per dose

His protocol:
1 x multi-vit- Wellman's preconception tabs
1 x 1000mcg folate
3 x 600mg of Co-enzyme Q10 in the form of ubiquinol spread throughout the day
1 x 200mg R-alpha lipoic acid
2 x Omega 3 with 400mg DHA per dose, total 800mg of DHA
1 x 1000mg L-carnitine

We also always use pre-seed lube around ovulation.

I better get some good quality eggs & spermmmm after all this 😅

I'm getting bloods done at the GP this afternoon so that'll tell me if I have a clotting disorder or any other abnormalities but I am considering trying baby aspirin next cycle, maybe from BFP. Anyone else had much experience with baby aspirin?
