Okay so bit of background.. me and DP have 1 child and planning to start trying for second in December.

I have surgery booked in November to remove breast implants which I must get done prior to pregnancy as I have capsular contracture (which could affect breastfeeding)

Plan is to have surgery in November and start trying for DC2 in December.

Anyway.... today I am ovulating and I just had Sex with my DP who "thinks he pulled out in time" but I have a feeling some went inside......

I'm worrying now... I don't want to get pregnant before I've had my surgery...

Should I get morning after pill tomorrow? Will this affect anything like my ability to conceive next time....??

What are the risks of morning after pill....?

worrying.

Hi, maybe wait until you know if you are pregnant before deciding?

It's a tad hard to read a post like this when the people on here are really trying to conceive. Wish you all the best in whatever lies ahead.

Whenloveisnotenough · 20/08/2023 19:36

Yes morning after pill if you don't want pregnancy to occur

Whenloveisnotenough · 20/08/2023 19:36

Also it will not affect fertility in november

Sorry I didn't mean to be insensitive. Apologies xx

Yes to the morning after pull, you also need to stop using the withdrawal method during ovulation unless you don't mind if you get pregnant.

People who successfully use withdrawal as contraception also use cycle tracking and avoid fertile times, even then pregnancies happen.

CurlewKate · 20/08/2023 19:44

MAP tomorrow.

HowcanIhelp123 · 20/08/2023 19:45

The pull out method is not contraception. Even if he did pull out you could have gotten pregnant. If you don't want to be pregnant use contraception, you are currently having unprotected sex so you are trying for a baby.

Morning after pill only works if you take it before ovulation so if you ovulated already or ovulate tonight before you can get it, it will do nothing.

Get the pill, pray it works and use condoms or accept you're already trying for a baby and cancel the surgery.

ICanBuyMyselfShowers · 20/08/2023 19:46

Morning after pill. ASAP.

I'd also stop having unprotected sex if getting pregnant before your surgery is something that you don't want. If there's a reason your partner can't use a condom and all other methods are also a no, at the very least don't be having any unprotected sex at all during ovulation.

ToughFuss · 20/08/2023 19:48

The obvious answer is to get the MAP and hope against hope that works. Otherwise, see in a couple of weeks and make a decision re continuing the pregnancy or otherwise. What else can you do really? Try not to stress too much, as it’s done now, but the pull out ‘method’ isn’t contraception, and you need to get something far better in place.

Exactly this. The MAP won't work if you've ovulated already but depending on your cycle, you may be okay if you take it tomorrow.
Alternatively, a copper IUCD works up to 5 days eve if you have ovulated and can stay in until you're ready to conceive (doesn't impact fertility once removed).

It's okay. With so many women on here worrying about long term fertility, I personally wouldn't take anything that could affect future chances.

I just feel like this is the wrong chat to ask, when we all actually want to be pregnant on here.

Do what's right for you and I hope it all works out the way you hope. 💐

Pumpkindoodles · 20/08/2023 19:58

Get MAP if you don’t want to be pregnant
and you don’t need to give any reason or justify yourself. also this Bc method is useless for exactly this reason. Why on earth couldn’t he use a condom if it’s important to you both not to have a baby right now.

If you want a baby anyway in a few months and the only reason you need to wait is to allow you to breast feed, I’d personally just wait and see. But that’s just me, obviously if you dont want to be pregnant you don’t have to be.

MAP can mess up your cycle and I thought it was less effective anyway if you had already ovulated? So just be aware of that

ScallyWaggyWoo · 20/08/2023 20:01

If you have / are ovulating the MAP won’t work and you need a coil fitted.

Jasminexoxo · 20/08/2023 20:39

You two sound very intelligent . Your trying to avoid getting pregnant so you proceed to have unprotected sex while using the pull out method during ovulation
