Usually only get strong pain on both sides but this month I had mild pain on both sides. Is it transference pain? I'm kinda confused

I have had the same on one side for about 10 years, randomly 2 months ago I had just mild pain on both sides, only happened once no idea what it was

metalmaude · 19/08/2023 20:41

It doesn't sound like ovulation pain, which isn't really on your side

I don't think she meant her ACTUAL side, she means on one side of her lower tummy where ovulation pain would occur

LoveYouHoneyBadger · 19/08/2023 20:46

@metalmaude I'm talking about my ovaries, left and right side. The title is regarding ovulation pain. Not random pains in the side.
It is very distinctively ovulation pain .

Its not really there either.

Ovaries don't have nerves, so if you feel anything, it is unlikely to be an ovary, and if it is, it isn't going to be coming from it's actual position. ie, it will be low in the groin and not in one side or other

Well rhat absolute bull coz I've had ovulation pain for 15 years severely and it's always on my left side of my tummy and it's been confirmed by many consultants 🤦‍♀️ if you haven't felt it you can't comment

Kellyaust · 19/08/2023 20:53

@metalmaude look up the medical name for it.... Mittleschmerz. Plenty to read for you 😊

LoveYouHoneyBadger · 19/08/2023 20:55

@Kellyaust glad to hear it turned out to be nothing. I was concerned that it could mean hyper ovulation ..ovulating from both ovaries. I'm on clomid which can stimulate multiple follicles but my previous scans were fine , it wasnt stimulating more than one and they said I wasn't at risk but this is my first cycle without monitoring and now I'm having ovulation pains on both ovaries, but milder than usual. Just wasn't sure if this can happen or if I should contact my consutlant for a scan to ensure I'm not releasing multiple eggs or something

I always have quite intense mittleschmerz. Have had it both sides a couple of times and have fraternal twins! So maybe it’s a hyperovulation thing.

Gunpowder · 19/08/2023 20:57

Sorry, x post on the hyperovulation. Hopefully it’s not that then.

Well..... Mine was the cycle straight after a miscarriage so actually it could've been hyperovulation.... I've no idea coz I didn't conceive then the next month it was back to left sided again 🤷‍♀️ if you're worried I'd call them x

@metalmaude yes women do get ovulation pains. There's a name for it but not every woman experiences it. I've seen plenty of gynaecologists and fertility doctors and they've told me it's perfectly normal .
My concern isn't regarding the pain in general , I know it's ovulation pain , however I've never experienced it on both sides and as I'm on fertility meds I wondered if it could mean super ovulating ( more than one egg)
I.e risk of multiples births so I wanted some options from anyone who has experienced pain in both ovaries

Could well be ovulating from both this month!

Cynthialb · 20/08/2023 10:20

Same here! I've been having strong pain on both sides and nausea for 3 days now i guess i ovulated yesterday, today I'm getting better. Usually i only have ovary pain on the left but this month something is different. What could it be?
