Worried I might have ruined my chances with conception

Hi there, please talk some sense into me and tell me I'm being ridiculous. I have two gorgeous, very boisterous children and am trying to conceive my third after a surprise pregnancy earlier this year didn't work out. However I have spent the day stuck in doors with the wet weather whilst my children have been climbing all over me, sitting on me, wanting me to carry them everywhere etc. I suddenly feel worried I might have ruined my chances this month. Do you think anything like that and too much rough and tumble playing etc could cause it not to happen? Thanks.

Your kids having rough and tumble play with you today will not have any effect on your likelihood of conceiving a pregnancy.

I got pregnant with my 2nd when my first was 11 months and pregnant with my 3rd when my 2nd was 11 months and my 1st was 2.5 years. So for both pregnancies I had kids hanging off me and throwing temper tantrums.

The kids absolutely will have done nothing to affect your chances.

Nope there's absolutely no way that would have any chance of preventing you from conceiving.

Er, all due respect, but can you calm yourself down by thinking things through a bit? You remember that humans evolved living a pretty rough and highly mobile lifestyle, right? How would the species have survived at all if a woman had to sit quietly to conceive? Why would we need abortion clinics if a pregnancy could end because you lifted a child?

'While it's unlikely that stress alone can cause infertility, stress interferes with a woman's ability to get pregnant. Research has shown that women with a history of depression are twice as likely to experience infertility. Anxiety also can prolong the time needed to achieve pregnancy.'

Playing with your children will not cause you to not conceive.

Don't let stress and anxiety get the better of you.

Enjoy you children, your lovely family and life and relax.
