Hi,

Im about to start trying for a baby with my partner, I’m 36 and have a BMI in the 40s, Am I crazy? I’m so anxious about my health during a pregnancy because of this.
Anyone have any advice at what the doctors/midwives will say or advise? Or anyone in the same boat?
I already have two kids aged 15 and 12 and had very high BP and swelling during the end weeks with both of them but was also a lot younger and thinner then.
Its very much wanted but my anxiety is taking over.

Youll pronably have consultant led care maybe

I was 25 stone, 5'10" no idea of bmi, but had a pregnancy in 2015.... my pregnancy was consultant led because of my age and weight, but everything was smooth sailing, and birth was with no complications. I was 36.

I actually unintentionally lost weight during pregnancy and after!

So all can be well.

I don't think they will say anything about your age my midwives haven't. I am 36 and 21 weeks pregnant and it seems fairly common in late 30s now especially for #2nd or #3rd child. Good luck x
