Due to start the IVF process next month with our initial meeting. They will discuss what method/s they think will work best for us, and then we get the ball rolling..

I have been given the all clear several times over now, via scans and various other checks. My DH has a low sperm count, so this is where our problem with conception lies.

I just wondered if anybody has had this same scenario? Fine themselves, but issue lies with the male partner? Any success stories?! Xx

Hi lovely- we just did treatment and while the issue was me (abysmally low egg count at 30) I do have some insight on this. We ended up doing ICSI: exactly the same process as IVF but instead of putting the sperm and egg in a Petri dish and letting nature take its course, they pick a good sperm and inject it into the egg. We chose to do this (despite my husband having a good result and it being a bit pricier) because some months I have 3 follicles and we wanted to try and guarantee at least one embryo. We were amazed when my 8 eggs made 8 high grade embryos. I’m convinced the ICSI was a game changer and that our embryo grades are strong because the best sperm was selected. Wishing you so much luck and love. It can feel like a lonely journey so please reach out if you want to vent! X

Hello. I’m an IVF veteran. Both my girls were ivf (first time fresh cycle and then a frozen transfer for our second). My husbands sperm were the issue too. It’s actually better/easier to fix a male issue we were told. The sperm often just need a bit of help. We had a good experience, very professional clinic. Ask lots of questions, do your research. You’ll do great. Good luck.
