Hi. Looking for advice or even suggestions.
I have been using pregnancare conception however I've seen heard so many negative things, effecting cycles etc.
So I'm just wondering if there any better vitamins/supplements that would be better to use whilst ttc.. obviously I want the folic acid

Has pregnancare affected your cycles?

Have you been tested to see if you are low in any vitamins and/or minerals?

Women's food grown fertility from wild nutrition.

Or advanced prenatal by Ovaterra (I think this is expensive)

Or Thorne Basic Prenatal.

Take methylfolate from biocare not folic acid.

@Reugny hard to say
Had my IUD out in march and started taking pregnacare straight away and my cycles do vary... but not exactly irregular either.
When I had the iUD I always had a period and it was always exactly 28 days...but I don't really know if that is a fair comparison. I had 2x mirena coils for 10 years all together. Prior to that I was a teenager and paid no attention.

I was taking Pregnacare. My cycle got delayed by 7 days (usually it’s 28 days like clockwork). It was before I was TTC as I started on the supplements three months before we started. I couldn’t work out what happened but googled the problem and some things I read suggested the Pregnacare may have been the cause.

Anyway I switched to Garden of Life Vitamin Code raw prenatal as a friend who is a fertility specialist recommended them. You can take them while trying to conceive as well as when pregnant and they have folic acid and all the important stuff like zinc etc but are really natural rather than artificial. Also I take Proceive Omega 3 tablets. So far my cycle is back to normal taking these. Xx

P.S the folic acid is actually in folate form in these supplements, which is meant to be easier for the body to absorb.

If you haven't had any tests to confirm whether you are low on any particular vitamin and/or minerals then you can just take folate supplement or a vitamin B supplement that contain the equivalent of 400 micrograms of folic acid. (Apparently B6 helps with the absorption of folic acid which is vitamin B9.)

Lots of multi-vitamin tablets including prenatal ones actually contain vitamins and minerals that interact with one another so it is a waste of time taking them.
